1st Person's P.O.V.

Looking at the Procter he points at our group, or at least I think he does.

"First, you candidates from the Village hidden in the Sound. Knock it off! Who told you, you could fight?! You wanna be failed before we've even begun?!" Ibiki yells at the Hidden Sound ninja.

"Sorry, it's our first time." One of the people who came to bother us apologies'. "Guess were a little jumpy, sir."

"I'll say this once, so listen up. There will be no combat between candidates. No attacking each other without the permission of your Procter. And even then the use of fatal force is strictly prohibited. Anyone who even thinks of messing with me will be disqualified immediately, got it?"

He looks around to make sure everybody was listening. Some guy from the Hidden Sound village speaks up.

"No fatal force? That's no fun." Ibiki ignores him.

"Now, if were ready, well proceed to the first stage of the exam. Hand over your paperwork. In return you'll each be given a number. This number determines where you will sit. Well start the written test once you're all seated." He lifts up a paper with a number on it.

"What? Did he say written?" Naruto asks. I nod. "No! Not a written test! No way!"

'I'm sure you'll do fine.' We go up and hand in our paperwork.

I go over to my seat and hope that Naruto is somewhere at least close to me. I look up to the front and see him look at his number. He starts walking towards me, I'm all the way in the back, but he stops and sits next to Hinata. I look who I'm sitting next to. Some girl from the village hidden in the sound on my right, and some guy from the village hidden in the sand on my left. Ibiki hits some chalk up against the board.

"Everyone, eyes facing the front. There are a few rules you need to be aware of and I'm not answering any questions, so you better pay attention first time around. Alright rule number one is this: The written part of the exam is conducted on a reduction system. Contrary to what some of you are used to, you all begin the test with a perfect score of ten points. One point will be deducted for each question you get wrong. So if you miss three, your final score will be seven."

I look and see that Naruto looks like he is contemplating wether he will do good on this test or not. At the top of my paper I write, Naruto Uzumaki.

"Rule number two: Teams will pass or fail based on the total score of all three members."

Sakura hits her head against her table. Does she really think that lowly of Naruto? I know she doesn't think she or Sasuke will fail. So obviously she thinks Naruto's stupid.

"What?! Wait a second! You're saying we all get scored as a team?!" Sakura yells out.

"Silence! I have my reasons so, shut up and listen. Rule number three: The sentinels you see out around the room are there to watch you carefully, for any signs of cheating. And for every incident they spot will subtract two points from the culprits score."

Some people look at the sentinels to measure them up. Maybe wondering how they could get away with cheating. There were some prostrate in the crowd but not a lot.

"Be warned. Their eyes are extremely sharp and if they catch you five times you'll be dismissed before the test is even scored. Anyone fool enough to be caught cheating by the sentinels doesn't deserve to be here."

"I've got my eye on you guys." One of the guys on the side says.

"If you want to be Shinobi, then show us what exceptional Shinobi you can be."
