3rd Person's P.O.V.

Y/n's team waits inside their room. Y/n reads the writing on the wall. She grabs the scrolls and opens them. She throws them on the floor as her team watches her. A man appears, Y/n stands on alert.

"Congratulations, rookies! I am a Chunin. I'm here to tell you guys that you passed!" Y/n's team cheers, Y/n still stands on end.

"Y/n! Don't be so upset! We passed!" Ino yells.
"Be happy for once!" She tries to grab Y/n's shoulder, but Y/n smacks her hand away. She writes something down and hands it to her team.

'Don't be so happy, we still have another test.'

"Y/n is right. We should try to rest now." Shikamaru says.

"Does that mean we get food?!" Choji questions.

"Alright. Well now it's time for you guys to go to that room." He points at a door in the corner. "Good luck."

They walk in, it leads to a large room where all of the teams are gathering. The adults stand in the front. The teams are lined up next to each other.

"First of all congratulations on finishing the second exam."

"I'm so hungry." Choji complains.

"What a drag. There's so many left. What a pain."

"Sasuke and his team have passed too."

"Well of course they did. After all the trouble we went through to keep them safe. They better have passed."

Gai Sensei talks to Kakashi, but Kakashi tells Gai he wasn't listening. Everybody has their own thoughts and conversations. Most of the adults can't believe that the rookies passed.

"Alright, now listen up the third Hokage is going to explain the third exam to you. You better listen carefully you maggots. Lord Hokage. They're all yours." Anko says and steps back.

"First before I tell you what the third exam entails, I want to explain something about the third test itself. Listen closely now, it's something that all of you need to understand. I'm going to tell you the true purpose of these exams. Why do you suppose our countries hold these exams in conjunction with our allies? To raise the ability levels of the ninja, and to increase friendship between allied nations, but it's important that you understand it's true meaning. The exams are, so to speak, they are a representative of the wars between allied nations."

"And what's that supposed to mean?" Ten Ten asks.

"Now, if we look at our history, the countries that we are currently allied with, were once neighboring nations that constantly fought with each other. In order to avoid destroying each others military strength meaninglessly, those nations picked champions to do battle on behalf of their countries, at a mutually selected. That is how the Chunin selection exams began."

"Well, that's great. But why do we have to go through these exams? It's not like we are being picked to fight."

"Well actually there is no question that part of the point of these exams is to select shinobi worthy of becoming Chunin. That's just not the whole story. These exams also allow a place where shinobi can carry the pride of their nations on their backs, and fight against other ninja for their very lives."

"The pride of our nation?" Sakura wonders.

"Many leaders and people of prominent families are invited to these exams as guests, and also to seek shinobi to work for them. This course could change the path of your ninja work from here on out. And more importantly those rulers will watch your battles and take notes of the strengths of each ninja and each nation is developing. If there is a gap in power between the countries the strong nations are swarmed with job requests for their ninja. And those countries that are deemed weak, job requests decline. The stronger our nation is the better our position with neighboring countries. It's important to show how much strength our military has."
