A Flash of Hope

Badd was sick of being in jail. He was utterly trapped, being condemned for a crime he never committed. A cold bed, angry criminals, and eternal loneliness. And of course, plenty of boredom. What was he to do?

But what got to him the most was how he had disappointed his sister. He could never go to one of her piano concerts again. She was all alone.

"Psst. Hey. Pompadour."

Badd looked up. His hair had not been in a pompadour for a while, much to his chagrin. What also annoyed him was that familiar, jeering voice. None other than Shiromi Torayoshi aka White Tiger was outside his cell, smirking at him. She seemed relaxed as always.

"You?" Badd asked. "How'd you get in here?"

"Now where's the fun in giving away my secrets?" Shiromi teased.

Badd grunted.

"Whaddya want?" he asked instead.

Shiromi tilted her head. "Today's the day, big guy."

Badd made a face. "Ya mean..."

Shiromi kept her face blank. "Yeah. That's right. The bombing is today."

...

"Listen up!"

The heroes seated around the glowing table turned to Megami. Once again, they were inside Saikou Corp HQ, in one of their meeting rooms. Now that the group wasn't completely associated with the Hero Association anymore, they were allowed back into Saikou Corp. Megami gazed over the occupied seats. There weren't as many people as she had hoped, but there was no time to fret over that. She had enough, and she was heading forward.

She counted the names: the remaining members of the Guardians (excluding Ayano of course, who was still in the dark about everything), Genos, Child Emperor, Zombieman, Umeji Kizuguchi, Kuu Dere, Mumen Rider, Zenko, and of course, Taro Yamada. Megami had been hoping to invite Raibaru and Fureddo, but they had joined the Neo Heroes.

"Today is the day we have been preparing for," Megami spoke. "Today is the day we begin fighting back against the supposed end of all time. Today is the day that humanity makes a stand!"

The group clapped.

"If you are ready, then we shall begin," Megami spoke. "Are you ready, heroes?"

Everyone chorused and clapped.

"Good," Megami nodded. "Then let's-"

"Hold on."

Megami trailed off, staring at the entrance. Flashy Flash had arrived, dragging Speed O' Sound Sonic behind him. Flashy Flash still had scars across his face and a prosthetic arm, but he was going strong. His brow was furrowed.

"Ah," Megami nodded. "So you have arrived, Flashy Flash. Excellent. And I see you've brought along a supervillain."

"I don't want to help you damn heroes," Sonic huffed, shoving Flashy Flash away. "But for the sake of Amai... I'll lend my aid, just this once."

Megami nodded. "That's what we are asking for."

"Aid, huh?"

Everyone stopped. On the screen was none other than Info-chan. Or at least, her silhouette. The computers everywhere flashed red.

"Info-chan..." Megami narrowed her eyes. "You-"

"Hold on," Info-chan's glitched voice was grim. "Before you get your knickers in a twist. I'm here to help you. I've been working with that psycho Yandere girl for a while now. I know everything about her plans."
