"Hoy! Thea! Hello!? Earth to Thea..." sigaw sakin ng best friend ko.

"Ay sorry! What we're you saying?" may sinasabi pala siya hindi ko na namalayan dahil sa pagkalutang ko kaninang first subject.

Nandito kami ngayon sa Cafeteria ng Imperial University dahil break time namin.

"Hay nako Thea! Ah basta ang sabi ko... teka nga lang! Sino ba kasing iniisip mo at lumilipad ang isip mo kung saan saan?".

"Ah wala! Wala iyon. Sorry na, I'm just thinking about the next subject". Pag-iiba ko ng topic.

"Siya nga pala, Anna anong meron dun kanina ko pa napapansin e, ang daming tao".

Bilang dakilang chismosa na malakas ang radar ng best friend kong si Anna, alam niya na agad kung anong meron duon.

"Ah si Kino! alam mo na pogi, gentleman, at matalino kaya pinag-kakaguluhan ng mga itsuserang kababaihan".

Wait a minute... parang familiar siya. "Omg Anna!! Siya yung nakasabay ko kanina na late rin sa first subject!" Siya yung kasabay ko kanina na napagalitan ng prof namin, pero bakit kaya ganon? There's a part of me na interested sakanya.

I just shrugged, and ignore my thoughts.

"Oh siya! mauna na ko bes may klase pa ko ng 8:30am, may 10 minutes pa ko ayoko na malate ulit sa next subject. First day na first day late ako".

"Okay bye, see you later b!"

*next subject*

Humanap agad ako ng mauupuan since kaunti pa lang ang mga tao sa room duon ako banda umupo sa likuran. At isa isa na nga nag-datingan ang iba pang mga ka-blockmates ko.

"Hi! Is this seat taken?" tanong ng isang babae na ka-blockmate ko.

"Nope". I smiled after saying it.

She smiled. "Thank you! What's your name?"

"Althea Joyce Castillanes. Ikaw?"

"Mary Ann Pascua. Nice meeting you!" I just smiled back at her na lang kasi dumating na rin ang prof namin.

While the prof starts giving us some orientation and scope to the subject, someone knock at the door.

"Come in". Sabi ng prof namin.

And there he is AGAIN. Jusko huwag mong sabihin na ka-blockmate ko nanaman siya sa Math101!

"You are 5 minutes late Mister...?" tanong ng prof namin.

"Juakin Huarez po short for "Kino". Sorry I'm late sir."

"Okay since it is our first day, pag-bibigyan kita. Take your seat!" bulyaw ng prof namin.

And I was looking at the whole room knowing that the only vacant seat is beside me. Gosh bakit siya nanaman? While making his way beside me, I made myself busy kunwari by writing some notes.

"May I?" he ask in a monotone voice.

I just nod.

And there, we started as strangers...
