The Beginning

There Goes The Neighborhood - 1

"Breakfast is ready!" I yell as I pour Kelly a cup of coffee, orange juice for me and set the sandwiches down.

"Yeah, um, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't bring the party home, and I'm pretty sure the neighbors would appreciate it, too" Matt tells Kelly as they walk in the kitchen.

"It wasn't a party it was one guy. Don't be so judgy" She says as she sits down.

"Yeah, well I talked to Roberta at the grill, and there's still a bar tending position open if you, Uh, wanted to get a job"

Kelly groans "Well I figured she still be pissed about the last time I worked there." I'm pretty sure she slept with her husband.

"I think she's desperate" "I'll check it out"

"Yeah?" I ask, she smiles "Don't act so surprised"

"Well I mean I just- we don't know how long you planned on sticking around"

"Well there's back rent due"

"there's back everything Kelly"

"Like I said, I'll check it out" Kelly assures. There's a knock at the door and I grab my bag and hoist it over my shoulder.

"Who's that?" She asks. "That's Caroline" Matt says and Kelly makes a face.

"Easy" He warns. "Come in!" I call out and Caroline enters.

"Hi ms Donavan" Caroline says with a small smile, Kelly responds with a fake one and leaves the kitchen, cup in hand.

"Yeah, ok, well. We're going to be late, so let's just get going" Matt says getting up. "Yeah" Caroline breaths. I give Caroline a smile and hip bump her hip before leaving.

School was surprisingly boring. I mean, with our life, I'd figured we'd be hatching down a plan to stop something but nope. Matt, Care, Elena and Stefan are going on a double date tonight at the grill. Which means I have to work his shift tonight, not that I mind, we need the money.

I park the car outside the car and sighed as I walked in. Another shift, another boring night.
I smiled when I saw Matt and Caroline on their double date with Stefan and Elena. At least there having fun.

For at least the next hour, I spent it taking orders, and working the bar, but after I saw Damon and Kelly drinking away I steered clear of the section of the bar. Damon obviously noticed me, Kelly didn't, and I am not surprised.

"Ariel!" Called Elena from the pool table. I excused myself from the table I was serving and went over. "What's up?" "We'd like our check please" She asks all nicely, but holds her phone up in secret from Matt and Caroline, so I can read the screen. "That man over there just called me Katherine"

I look back up and smile like if I hadn't just read something. "I'll get the check" Elena nodded and went back to get her stuff, I passed by Stefan and whispered "I'm going to"

"Yeah. This is much better, then watching Damon visit cougar town, no offense" Caroline exclaims to Matt as we enter boarding house.

"Don't remind me, I've always wanted to see what this place looks like" Matt shares as he looks around in amusement.

I chuckle "You could have a long time ago, I always use to ask you if you wanted to come with me to help around"

Matt chuckled "Nah, I didn't know Zach"

"Yeah, I guess it's a bit to much" Stefan exclaims. "Yeah our house could fit in her twice" Matt says, I giggle. "I feel like I've been here before, it's weird" Caroline says with skepticism.

Elena takes a deep breath and looks at Stefan. "Do you guys wanna watch a movie or something?"

"Whoa these are great" Matt says distracted as he goes to a shelf with a bunch of cars on it. "That's a little Bobbie of mine" Stefan explains.

I smile "We did the entire mustang series when we were 9" I explain. When your the tiebreaker, you always pick up interests from both siblings growing up.

"You like cars?" Stefan asks Matt, "That's an understatement" Stefan smiles.

"Come with me"
