Chapter 6: She looks just like her

Lilas POV:
"Not on our watch," I looked up to see Drake smiling at me. Vito and one other man who I didn't recognise were standing next to him. He had dark hair and green eyes.
The Merry band of idiots had arrived. They eyed the three men in front of them warily. Not that I could blame them, Drake Vito and the other guy looked like they spent a lot of time at the gym. Plus, they had guns.

Finally, the Leader took a step forward, "Give us back the girl and we'll leave you alone," he tried to sound threatening but was epically failing.

Drake raised an eyebrow, "And does she want to go with you?"

I shook my head, "I'll pass, thanks."

Drake turned his attention back to the Leader, "That's settled, then."

Idiot no2 ran a hand through his red hair, "Jake," he murmured to the Leader, "let's go, these people are dangerous."

'Jake' snorted, "Dangerous my foot. Who do they think they are? Walking around as if they own the place."

"Actually, we do," Vito and the others stepped into the light and my jaw dropped.

I didn't recognise them before but I do now. They were the Vincentis- they ran one of the largest mafias in the world. Apparently, their sister had been taken and they dedicated pretty much every resource they had to finding her.

Idiot no1 recognised them and was smart enough to run away.

"Axe, this is the girl I was telling you about; the one who stays at the Orphanage," Drake turned to a man with dark hair and bright green eyes.

"Ah! Mystery Girl?" 'Axe' grinned.

"Enough chit chat," Jake snapped, "Come on, sweetheart." Looks like he didn't learn his lesson last time.

I gripped his arm and twisted it behind his back and kicked behind his knees, "Do not call me sweetheart." I glared. I've been told that my blue eyes make my glare a lot more intimidating.

"Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you," I looked up to see the Vincetis pointing their gun at idiot no 2. He had his weapon pointed at me and was about to fire.

"Run along, now," Drake said in a dangerously soft voice.

Jake gulped before straightening and scoffed, "Whatever. We'll be going now. But not because you told us to, but because we want to."
Then they ran as if a hundred dogs were chasing them.

"Thank you," I nodded.

"No problem," Drake replied, smiling slightly, "What's your name?"

"It's Lila," I said.

Vito's POV:

"It's Lila," MG said and my brothers and I stiffened.

"Lila what?" Drake asked.

Lilas eyes hardened, "just Lila."

She stepped forward and from the light in the streetlamp I could see her features clearly. She had black hair that swept just past her shoulders, slightly tanned skin with a splatter of freckles on the bridge of her nose. I looked in her eyes and gaped. They were a precise shade of blue I'd only seen once before.

"She looks just like her," I heard Drake murmur.

"Like who?" Lila said.

"No one," I said, trying to keep my face expressionless, "do you- uh, do you want a ride home?"

Lila bit her lip and thought carefully, "okay," she said slowly, "but if you kidnap me, I will drop kick you all the way to the ends of the Earth."

Lilas POV:
For some reason, the men seemed to find this amusing. I don't know why. I wasn't kidding.

Hesitantly, I sat in their black Lamborghini; you may be thinking that I'm stupid for accepting a ride from total strangers, but I didn't fancy walking all the way home late at night- especially after what happened.

"So, Lila," Drake said from the passengers seat, trying to break the awkward silence, "Do you watch movies?"

Axel sighed from the drivers seat while Vito rolled his eyes.

"Yes," I said shortly, putting my cold facade on.

"Cool, what type?"

"Action and mystery."

"Cool."

Awkward silence.

"We're here." Axel rolled up into the Orphanage's driveway. I checked the time and silently cursed. The doors would be locked so I'd have to go through the window.

"Thank you for the ride and for saving me," I said formally. Exiting the car, I heard one of them say: "is it her...?"
What was that all about?
