AN: here's chapter 28! Enjoy people.

Lila's POV: (three days later) WARNING: includes some violence (nothing major or graphic!) skip this part of you're sensitive to this topic!

Today, I awoke in a cell. My throat was drier than the Sahara Desert and my head felt like a tiny person was banging a hammer inside it.

"Good, you're awake," Mr. Woods said. Really? Can't I go just one day without waking up to his irritating voice.

"What do you want?" I gritted out, resisting the urge to slap that smug smirk off his face.

"I want you to meet someone," he whispered something to Moron who nodded and opened the cell door.

My eyes widened, "No, no, no, don't do this!" I yelled.

Mr Woods grinned, "Lila, this is Zoe. I believe you two have met?"

"Lila!" Zoe sobbed, "save me!"

But I was powerless to do anything.

Mr Woods put a gun to the little girl's forehead.

And pulled the trigger.

Axel's POV:

We got a video.

For the past few days, we were analysing the previous call, trying to see if there was anything to lead us to Lila.

The video showed Lila screaming and crying, little Zoe being shot in the head. Instantly, Aless called Reece; we were expecting him to look sympathetic or a reaction appropriate to comfort someone who'd lost their child, but he looked quite confused.

I turned my attention back to the video. It broke my heart to see Lila crying. However, when she looked up, she was laughing.

"Did I do a good act?" She asked and me and my brothers were shocked.

Mr X looked puzzled but covered it up smoothly, "the little girl you loved was killed and it was-"

"'All my fault' yeah I know the drill," Lila rolled her eyes, "but that wasn't Zoe. I can tell the difference between the real person and a doppelgänger."

The look on Mr X's face was priceless. Someone quickly stopped the camera, preventing us from seeing anything else.

"Wait," Drake rewinded the video and zoomed in the background, "look at that."

"It's a table. How exciting," Xander deadpanned.

"Look at the logo! There's only one company in the world with that logo. And she never exports her products..." he mumbled to himself and then looked up excitedly, "I know where Lila is."

The 5 magic words.

Lila's POV:

That night, I got the worst beating and torture I've ever had.

Mr. X wanted to punish me. So he got the Goldies and Moron to beat me up then, he put on a voice recording of my brothers and friends being tortured. It almost killed me. Hearing them all scream for help and beg me to save them.

Just when I couldn't go on anymore, the cell door opened. I was too tired to respond until a familiar voice said, "Lila?"

I looked up and saw Jake. He was looking at me with shock, horror, sadness and anger, "Who did this?"

I opened my mouth to reply, but Mr. X entered the room, "Why, I did, my son!"

Jake's POV:

The sick psycho actually sounded proud of himself.

"How dare you?" I growled, hand clenched in fists.

Mr. Woods grinned, "I was just coming back to finish the job and I'm so glad you're here! Jake, stand over there."

I did so, my mind working at a million miles an hour. Seeing Lila laying there, looking like she'd been through Hell, made my blood boil and heart clench. I was going to get her out of here. History will not repeat itself.

Mr. Woods raised the gun and pointed it at Lila, "Goodbye, Lila." And pulled the trigger.

"NO!" I screamed.

Lila's POV:

Woods pulled the trigger. I waited for the bullet. I heard Jake scream, but it sounded like it was coming from the end of a long tunnel. Surprisingly, I wasn't scared of Death. Nah, when he comes, I'm gonna punch him in the face and come back to haunt Woods for the rest of his pathetic life.

Or so I thought.

Jake- stupid, noble, Jake- threw himself between the bullet and me.

"NOOOO!" I yelled, dragging myself to my best friend, "No, no, no! Jake, don't leave me! Please," I sobbed.

Jake gripped my hand, "Shhh, don't cry Lila, it's going to be okay," he smiled, "I love you, Blue."

"I love you too, Red," I smiled through the tears. Jake opened his mouth to say something, but went limp. The light disappeared from his brown eyes.

"Well, that was heartbreaking," Woods said in a flat, emotionless voice. He raised his gun again.

I closed my eyes, and waited for death.
