𝘼𝙧𝙙𝙤𝙧 ~ 𝙀𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙮 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡

I woke up with a start, today was the day I was turning 18. An abrupt knock at my door signalling Charlie could be heard and I happily invited him in. "Happy Birthday sweetheart" he cheered as he handed me a package wrapped neatly, "mom's work" I thought to myself as I gratefully accepted the gift. Bella strolled in "Happy Birthday Luce" she chimed "happy birthday bells" I responded, my voice still heavy with sleep. I watched as she sat down on the end of my bed and Charlie handed her a present wrapped in identical paper. He raised his eyebrows waiting for us to tear them open, we openly complied and ripped them open and laughed upon seeing the matching instant cameras. I immediately snapped a picture of Bella and Charlie and Bella asked him to take one of the two of us also. I smiled wide, impressed with how well Bella was accepting her aging deciding against mentioning it just in case it prompted a mood change.

Arriving at school I could sense Bella's appreciation at approaching our friends so I grabbed her hand and tucked her close to me and we reached the group. "Today's the big day" Jessica exclaimed loudly. Upon seeing the worth in Bella's eyes, "the R & J essay is due today, don't look so worried Bella" she amended. I silently thanked her just as Eddy boy reached the group. "Happy Birthday Luciana" he grinned, "sorry is Luci what you prefer?" he questioned already knowing the answer. I was in a good mood so I let it slide chuckling to myself.

The school day went fairly fast and suddenly it was time for gym, my all time favourite class. I was captain so I managed to get most of my friends in my team as well as a few of the lads that I had spied excelling in training the other day. I smiled to myself happy with my team as Coach Brown announced we were playing dodgeball today. One groan sounded much louder than the rest and I picked it out as Bella's. I reached over and whispered in her ear "Don't worry, we have Eddy boy on our side and he seems to like your face so hopefully he'll protect it". She grimaced at my words but I sensed her relief as she acknowledged Edward's presence.

Everything was going well until I apparently got to close to the Mike when reaching for a ball and Jessica got jealous shoving me hard across the floor. I slid straight into the wall hitting my eye on the corner. Yelping in pain I felt hands grabbing at me and asking if I was alright, I specifically heard Edward telling Bella I wasn't bleeding and I wondered how he knew as he couldn't see my face. Brushing that thought quickly aside I stood up with The help of Angela and gave a cold glare to Jessica "what the hell was that for you bitch" I called out to her. She had paled white when i removed my hand as she saw a dark bruise forming, "Omg Luci I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean for that to happen". I sensed the true remorse in her words and accepted her apology but insisting she went and got me ice. She agreed and quickly returned with ice in hand. I got permission to sit out from the rest of the class and grumbled to myself - I hated missing gym.

The bell rang signally the end of the day and I skipped out to wait by Bella's truck. Hearing a loud yell I turned and saw Jacob Black standing there beside his dirk bike signalling me to come over and join him. "What are you doing here Jake" I beamed, "We couldn't wait any longer to see you" he replied grinning. "Woah Luci what happened your face" he exclaimed, "puberty Jake it hit me like a truck" I replied giddy with excitement, "I got pushed in gym but I'm fine". Happy with the fact I was going to Jacob's I sent a quick text to Bella explaining my disappearance, grabbed his spare helmet and hopped on. Soon enough we reached La Push and Jake practically pulled me off the bike and dragged me to the garage. "wow" I murmured taking in the beautiful sea of lights and balloons that was the garage I really didn't know what else to say. "Aw Jakey you shouldn't have, all this just for me" I chimed reaching up to pull him down for a hug. I heard a gruff cough and looked to the side seeing Quil and Embry. "Aw guys you did this too?" I asked "like Jake could manage something like this on his own" Quil scoffed I stopped him before he could go on by giving him a quick hug also. Then I turned to Embry who had a small blush forming on his cheeks I went on my tiptoes to reach his ear while giving him a warm hug, "Thanks Em I know it was your idea", he squeezed me tighter in response and I gave him a quick peck before I pulled out of his embrace

Embry's pov:
"She's gorgeous" was the only thought in my mind when she entered the make shift party the only expression on her face was pure joy. I noticed a bruise beginning to form on her face but it didn't seem to affect her at all. She seemed surprised at the effort and I impressed myself by almost making her speechless - which was a near impossible feat. She hugged Jake and Quil in turn but I saw her expression change and soften when she looked at me and i felt my cheeks beginning to glow red. My heart leapt when she reached for me attempting to engulf me in an embrace. Her lips tickled my ear as she thanked me for my efforts and my stomach filled with butterflies when she kissed me soft and quick on the cheek. I would have been content in her arms for hours but unfortunately we had other things to attend to and I felt her slowly pull out of my arms.

Luci pov:
I sat on the arm of the couch as the boys handed me some small gifts, Jake got me an adorable dream catcher in a pale blue shade I thanked him profusely and rubbed the material between my fingers. Quil was next and he placed a lopsided chocolate cake on the table in front of me, and I watched as he mirrored my expression of glee grinning from ear to ear. Embry was last and he told me to closed me eyes, I felt his hands on my wrist and when I opened them a beautiful handwoven bracelet was in its place with a hand carved wooden 'E' hanging off it.
I felt overwhelmed by some emotion I couldn't quite name and quickly pulled him in for a hug. His body felt hot against mine and he pulled away fast ducking his head out of sight but not before I caught a glimpse of his glowing red cheeks. I made sure to capture as many photos possible during the evening with my new camera.

The rest of the evening was extremely enjoyable and we headed down to the beach. I borrowed a pair of Jakes old shorts so I could go swimming if the opportunity presented itself. The boys all respectfully covered their eyes while I pulled the shorts on. They quickly had their shirts off and met my eyes seeing if I was ready. I was just about to pull my top of when I felt a sharp pang of nerves and I hesitated. I don't know why I suddenly felt so nervous. I wondered what he would think of me. I never cared what he thought of me before but I felt different now. I quickly stopped thinking about him as it made my breathing rate increases to an uncomfortable pace. Noticing my hesitation Embry waved the other boys on into the water and came over to me. "Whats up Luce" he murmured, I quickly made the decision to just do get it over with because they were going to see my body at one point and it might aswell be now "oh nothing I replied my top just got stuck haha" I replied, my response overly happy. "I'll give you a hand if you" want he suggested reaching for the bottom of the top, hesitating, waiting for her to say the words. "Yes please" I whispered back and held my breath as he lifted it over my head leaving my black bra exposed.

The air was silent and he gave nothing away as him eyes romped over my body in what seemed like awe. "Embry snap out of it" I muttered feeling self conscious as I felt he was holding back his words. "Wow" he managed to choke out before meeting my eyes, "you are so beautiful" he whispered, fixing my hair behind my ear. The moment felt surreal until Quil wolf whistled from the water, "hey lovebirds some time today huh" he yelled over the waves. I grabbed Embry's hand and pulled him towards the water. We raced down with me squealing as he reached the waves first and threw me into them. We all laughed playing around together before we decided we had enough.

After enjoying the cake Quil had made us, I decided it was time to head home and I called Charlie to get me despite Jake making it very clear he didn't mind dropping me home. Bella wasn't answering her phone but she was with Edward so that was nothing new. Charlie arrived shortly after and I clambered up into the truck exhausted from the days events. I waved goodbye and looked out the window till we arrived home.
