𝘼𝙧𝙙𝙤𝙧 ~ 𝙀𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙮 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡

Bella stayed in a trance like state for the next couple of weeks. Only leaving the house to go to school, even sitting on her own there too. I had tried my best to include her in our conversations but she didn't want any part of it. I had been hanging out with my boys less too because I needed to help Bella recover from the heartbreak and abandonment she was suffering from. "I'm gonna kill that Edward" I though to myself, momentarily I felt happy at the thought of ruining his life the way he had ruined Bella's.

Downstairs at the table Charlie and I discussed our options. Renée's concern for Bella had been growing and she felt that bringing Bella back to Phoenix would help her. The thought of being separated from Bella made my heart ache and I quickly discarded that option. "She needs to make some new friends" Charlie murmured keeping his voice low in case Bella could hear and I nodded in agreement.

We slowly trudged up the stairs into Bella's room and started the intervention. "Bella this has gone too far love" he quietly began "we need to look at getting you better, maybe a stay in Phoenix will help", I glared at him when he mentioned Phoenix as I distinctly remembered telling him that wasn't an option. At his words Bella seemed to wake up, "No no I'm not going to Phoenix I like it here Dad" she pleaded. "Bella you're wasting away in front of my eyes, what other options do I have. You haven't had a friend over in weeks, you haven't left the house in weeks and you haven't spoken to us in weeks either" he mentioned sadly. "I'm going shopping this weekend with Jessica and Luci" she suddenly blurted out taking him by surprise. I nodded instantly agreeing to the plans even though I didn't particularly like shopping but doing anything with Bella would be good at this point.

The next few days passed by in a blur. Jessica agreed to go shopping and even offered to drive us there ( I personally think she just didn't want to be caught dead in Bella's truck) , either way I was happy with the arrangement glad Bella was seeking help even if it was in the form of a small shopping trip to Port Angelus. The day was finally upon us and we all sung along to Britney Spears on the way there, Bella looking like her old self for the first time in months. After spending two hours shopping we decided to go to the cinema to watch the new 'Zombies IV" that had just come out. It was hard to focus on the movie with Jessica's constant babbling but I managed until a giant eye covered the screen and we all screamed like it was the last thing we would ever do. "That movie was so lame" Jessica complained, "like why did they all want brains, there's like barely any nutrients in them they're like stringy-" cutting her off "oh my god would you stop talking Jess" I sighed exasperated. Rolling her eyes at me we giggled.

Suddenly the revving of a group of bikes caught me off caught. I took in the group now right in front of us cursing as I remembered my pepper spray on my desk at home. There was no way we would be able to take them, there was too many. My heart leapt out of my chest when I noticed Bella slowly walking towards who seemed to be the leader. "Hey baby you wanna ride" he loudly called to her along with comments from his gang. I shook my head not believing what I was seeing. I lurched for my sisters hand but she shrugged it off and headed towards the men climbing on the back of the leaders bike. I was speechless as they turned and drove off. "What the hell" Jessica screamed, "Do we call the cops, she's gonna be kidnapped" she continued. I felt like I wasn't there in the moment, I was consumed with fear that I would never see Bella again, I was seconds from calling 911 when the bikes skidded to a halt in front of us with Bella hopping off. They sped off then.

Marching up to her I shoved her hard in the chest "what were you thinking Bella you idiot. I thought you weren't gonna come back, I've seen enough stuff on tv to know what you did was reckless and borderline insane". At the word reckless a knowing look came into her eyes. "I'm sorry. I thought I recognised someone" she mumbled looking down at her grubby shoes. Jessica was beyond freaked and just wanted to get home so grabbing our two hands she dragged us quickly to her car not looking back.

The car journey back was an uncomfortable one to say the least. The car was heavy with silence and nobody seemed eager to break the tension. I thanked Jessica when we arrived home after what seemed like hours in the car. I grasped Bella's hand hard and brought her into the house sighing. Charlie stood in the doorway, concern plastered all over his face. "Have you been drinking" he asked sternly, I nearly laughed at the random question "no dad of course not" I exclaimed. His face relaxed as he sensed I was telling the truth and let us in. Bella sped up the stairs without a backward glance prompting me to follow her. "Please don't tell Charlie about what happened. He thinks I'm doing better and I don't want to take another step backwards. I am doing better Luci, honest. Today was the most alive I've felt in months"she blurted out in a hurry, "you scared me half to death Bells" I whispered burying my head in her chest afraid I might start crying, "I thought I lost you don't ever do anything that stupid again ok" "ok" she whispered back hugging me tight against her body.

I plodded across the hall and dived into my bed, groaning when I had to get up to change into my pyjamas. Settling down under the snuggly covers I reached for my phone. Embry's name flashed across the screen from a text he had sent earlier.
Embry: Hey Luci, hope you're doing ok. We haven't hung out in a while and I wondered if you wanted to come over tomorrow.
Luci: Hey Em, I've been so preoccupied with Bella I hope you don't think I'm neglecting you. That sounds great what time should I be at Jakes?
I pressed send and now all I had to do was wait. Suddenly my phone started vibrating and I saw Embry was calling me so answered the phone all flustered, caught off guard.
"H-hello"
"Hey it's only me"
"I guessed as much haha"
"The thing is I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my house tomorrow, yano just the two of us"
I could hear his nerves through the phone
"Oh, sure I would love to." hearing him sigh in relief at my reply.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow just cause you don't know where my house is"
"Sure thing Em, I'm looking forward to it. Goodnight"
"Goodnight Luce"
The beep sounded and I took my phone down from my ear sighing with happiness. Embry always seemed to have that affect on me, always managing to brighten my mood. I snuggled down deeper into my bed and dreamt about tomorrow.

Bit of a filler chapter but necessary all the same xxx
