Charlie didn't say much on the way home but that wasn't unusual, it wasn't until they were safely home that she sensed the worry her father was feeling. "Have you spoken to Bella recently" he breathed out worriedly, "um ya, I texted her before I left with Jake after school". Luci checked her phone but there was no reply from Bella. "Look Dad I'm sure she's fine, you know how she is with Edward..." I trailed off noticing he wasn't feeling reassured. Luckily the familiar sound of the beat up truck we had all grown to love could be heard getting closer until Bella was right in the driveway. Charlie immediately strode towards the vehicle muttering subtle curses as he went. "Bella you can't just disappear like that , I need a text at least" he growled "Sorry Dad I had an accident at Edwards and I couldn't find my phone" she reasoned holding up her bandaged arm for proof, "jeez Bell's" I called out when I noticed her arm but I wasn't too worried as she was the clumsiest person alive. "Come on let's get you inside" Charlie gruffed, just glad his daughters were home safe.
That night I crawled into Bella's bed like we used to when we were younger and we started chatting for ages. I was in the middle of a rant about Jess when my phone went off loudly , glancing down I was surprised to see Embry's name as I thought only Jake had my number.
Embry~hey Luce it's Embry , Jake gave me ur number hope that's alright I hope you had a great birthday

"Why did I put the X for god sake" I thought feeling really stupid. "Who's that" Bella wondered noticing her twin's sudden mood change. "it's Embry from La Push" I explained "I've been hanging out more with him,Quil and Jake these days". Bella's eyes widened "and do you like this Embry you're talking about" she cheekily whispered. "I think I do, it feels weird to say it out loud. I'm pretty sure he likes someone though, the boys are always winding him up about it" "oh well, his loss babe" she murmured, already falling asleep. I cuddled up to her as I fell asleep dreaming of him.
