I woke up drenched in sweat and noticed I was still dressed and that the covers were pulled up over me. Looking over at the clock I groaned seeing as it was 6 am. I pulled my clothes from the bonfire the night before off in a hurry because I could feel myself beginning to overheat. I threw on a pair of shorts and a spaghetti top before snuggling back down again. Just as I was getting comfortable a gut wrenching scream came from the room opposite mine, leaping out of bed I shoved the door open and ran in to Bella's room. Shaking her forcefully until her eyes opened and met mine "Bella are you alright", it was a few seconds before she responded, "it was just a bad dream" she whispered unable to help the whimpers escaping from her throat. Feeling her sadness I crawled into bed beside her, rubbing her shoulders until I felt her fall back to sleep. Once I was sure she was sleeping I tiptoed out and nearly bumped into Charlie. His face was dark, shadowed with tiredness and age, "Is she alright" he questioned, "she's ok for now" I answered putting emphasis on the 'now'.

I tried and failed to go back to sleep and at 9am I got up. I checked my phone and was happy to see a text from Embry
Embry: I hope you're ok after last night. I really enjoyed the bonfire with you.
Luci: Im feeling better thanks. I really enjoyed hanging out with you too Em, we should do it again soon x

Sighing in happiness at the thought of seeing Embry made my heart flutter. I had never felt this way about someone before and I didn't know how to act or if my feelings were premature. The only thing I was sure of was that I wanted to be more than friends with Embry Call.

I decided I would spend the day with Bella to make sure she knew she was supported. After I got out of the shower I got dressed and headed downstairs. I made some hot tea and pancakes for Bella and brought them up to her on a tray, nudging her awake gently she sat up and rubbed her eyes. "thank you Luce" she whispered greatfully "anytime" I reply with a wink. I collect the tray after a half hour, surprisingly Bella was asleep again but I couldn't blame her, if I had spent half the night in the woods I would be tired too. My plans to spend the day with Bella didn't look like they were going to work out as the only thing she seemed to be doing was sleeping so I texted the group chat asking if any of the boys were free to hang out. I got a bit suspicious when Quil and Jacob were busy considering it was Sunday but I didn't linger on that thought for too long. Embry was up for it though and he texted to say he would be at mine in an hour or so

Soon enough I could hear the purr of an engine outside. Charlie was working overtime obsessing over some recent apparent "wolf sightings" near forks so I didn't have to worry about telling him where I was going. I hastily scribbled a note to Bella telling her that her dinner was in the fridge and that I was gone off with Embry. His gentle knock sounded at the door and I skipped over to it shutting and locking it behind me. We walked over to his car and got in. "So where are you taking me?" I asked "oh just down to the beach, for a walk if you fancy it ?" he replied with a grin. Nodding, I sat back in my seat and gazed out the window until we arrived. I caught Embry staring at me a few times and I had to remind him to keep his eyes on the road while struggling to hide my laughter.

The beach was relatively empty except for a few other walkers down the end. There was nobody in the water as the waves were rough and thrashing wildly.  Embry slung his arm over my shoulder as we walked insisting he was trying to keep me warm. I didn't mind it and I grabbed the hand around my shoulder and held it. We trudged along slowly not saying much until we reached an inward area sheltered from the wind by a giant rock. Embry suggested we sit down and the second he said that I felt my heart speed up in anticipation of what might happen. Sure I've had my first kiss but that was a meaningless peck with a boy from 5th grade. I could tell it was going to be different this time.

Embry pov:
I knew what I wanted to do, hell I had definitely thought about it long enough. Every time we were together I felt stronger and happier than I did with anyone else and I couldn't understand it. Suddenly a sharp gust of wind swirled around us and she shivered pulling herself closer to my body to try stay warm. "Do you want my jacket" I asked softly, "then you'll be cold Em" she replied looking up into my eyes. I shrugged my shoulders and slipped my jacket off and draping it around her shoulders admiring how good she looked with it on. I blushed as she caught me staring feeling my cheeks glow red. I felt pure happiness just being here with her and didn't want anything to ruin the moment.

My stomach rumbling ruined the moment.

Chuckling awkwardly, "are you hungry" I asked her with a grin. "I could eat" she replied with a cute smirk. Grabbing her hand we hopped up and headed to the car. I pulled into the La Push diner and ran around to open her door for her feeling my insides glow when she gave me her award winning smile. "Oh Embry, quite the gentleman you are" she giggled, I playfully rolled my eyes and reached for her hand towing her through the doors. My insides dropped when I saw Jake and Quil wiggling their eyebrows from a booth. Of course they had to be here. I sighed. Luci followed my gaze to see what had caused my annoyance and I couldn't help but smile when her face lit up at the sight of the pair.

Luci's pov:
Jake and Quil how perfect I hadn't seen them in a bit. I sensed Embry's annoyance but pleaded with him to brush it aside so we could sit with them. I giggled to myself at how quickly he gave in to my request. We plopped down in the booth Embry sitting beside Jake and me beside Quil. "Are ye like a thing now" Quil whispered suggestively in my ear, "I thought you were busy" I whispered back ignoring his comment because I didn't know the answer myself. I stopped myself in my tracks of course I knew the answer and it was , no, we're not together but I kept that thought to myself.

We chatted for what seemed like hours and soon enough we were the only ones left. Our waitress Kim came over and leaned on our table. Kim went to the boys school so they already knew her. From our small interactions I felt like I knew her already. She was so bubbly and bright you couldn't help but be drawn to her. "Can I get you guys anything else, my shifts about to end" she asked us, to nobody's surprise the boys were still not full so they ordered a milkshake each. Kim delivered the delicious looking desserts before changing from of her uniform and clocking out. As she was leaving three tall, strong looking men walked in but Luci could tell Kim only had eyes for one of them.

Embry drew me away from the interaction I was observing with a loud scoff, "here come the hall monitors on steroids" he muttered rolling his eyes. I playfully nudged him asking for more information. "The biggest one is Sam he's their pathetic leader, the one Kim is all over is Jared and that last one is Paul" he finished visibly shuddering as he spat out the last boys name clearly there was a story there. Paul turned his head and looked at us as if he could hear what we were saying. That would be impossible though as Embry had barely whispered the words and Paul was standing a good bit away at the door. The three boys then turned around taking Kim with them.

The three milkshakes were soon emptied and we paid our bill and left. We parted with Quil and Jake as I climbed into a separate car with Embry. It was already dark so he drove me home slowly. We reached my house but neither of us moved. I glanced over at him and he met my eyes. "Oh crap I'm still wearing your jacket" I pointed out, "keep it" he told me holding his breath for my reaction "it looks better on you anyway" he added with a smirk. "Are you sure" I quizzed him, "positive" he replied. Although the conversation was over I still didn't want to leave. Taking a look at the time I unbuckled myself and leaned across to him before I could chicken out. Clearly taking him by surprise as his eyes widened and I heard his breath hitch. Then I quickly but softly pressed my lips to his feeling my heart rate increase as his lips responded just as softly. We broke apart both of us unsure of what had just happened. Without saying a word I got out of the car then and waved goodbye from my porch till he was out of sight. Running upstairs I shot into Bella's room to share the dramatic news with her. She wasn't hearing anything I was saying though, she was just sitting on her chair gazing blindly out the window. I patted her shoulder on my way out feeling like I was interrupting something.

Oof their first kiss. Hopefully you enjoyed this chapter, I enjoyed writing it.
