𝘼𝙧𝙙𝙤𝙧 ~ 𝙀𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙮 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡

A couple of days had passed since my birthday and I had noticed a subtle change in Bella's behaviour , she was home more often now and Edward seemed to be missing from school along with the rest of his family. I wondered if they had broken up but I didn't ask as I would prefer if Bella would tell me herself, I didn't want to
pry.

It was gloomy Saturday morning and Luci had no plans other than sprawling on the couch and stuffing her mind with as much food as possible. Charlie was out fishing with Harry and wouldn't be back till very late so it was just her and Bella. Her phone buzzing on the table distracted her from the tv and she answered it,
"hey"
"hey it's Embry I was wondering if you wanted to come to a bonfire tonight at the beach a few of my friends will be there, it'd be cool for you to meet them"
"ya of course, what time ?"
"round 7 o'clock , I can pick you up if you want"
"you have a car??"
"ya haha I finally got my licence and mom let me borrow the car"
"that's great Em , I'll see you at 7 then"
"see ya then Luci"
Heart beating fast she glanced at the clock grateful to see it was only 3 and she had plenty of time to get ready.

Bella wandered down from her room an hour later and collapsed on the couch beside her twin clearly tired. "you alright" Luci asked nudging her sister's shoulder, "I'm ok just a bit tired" "I'm going to a bonfire later if you want to join me Jake's gonna be there" "I think i'll pass this time" Bella murmured already asleep on the couch.

Once it hit 5 o'clock Luci was itching to get ready. She hopped in the shower and combed her fingers through he hair using expensive vanilla shampoo and conditioner (in case she was close to anyone at the party). After washing her face she popped on a light layer of waterproof makeup keeping it simple. She rummaged through her drawers till she found her off the shoulder top and some cute jeans. She threw a bikini and a towel in her bag , just in case swimming was on the evenings agenda and popped on a cute pair of flats. Grabbing her leather jacket she went back downstairs to wait for him to arrive. A gentle knock on the door let her know he was here, shrugging her jacket on she kissed Bella's head and headed out.

Embry greeted her with a warm smile and Luci followed him down the drive to a silver car. He had kept the engine running so the car was nice and cozy. Putting his hand on her headrest and looking behind him he reversed, Luci's heart hitched at his arm so close to her, something she wouldn't have passed any heed of before. Placing his hand back on the wheel Embry was aware of the change in the atmosphere but didn't say anything to break the tension. Once they arrived at La Push however things changed.

Embry pov:
I got out of the driver's seat and rushed over as fast as possible to be able to open her door for her. Helping her out of the car I offered to carry her bag and she giggled but said "whatever makes you happy Em". Once the other guys came into view I casually slung my arms around Luci's shoulder earning an eyebrow raising from her but she didn't resist. I could see the boys glossing over her with their eyes and becoming entranced with her body. I feel the nasty taste of jealousy rise in me but I pushed it back telling myself it was unnecessary.

Of course Luci blends right it with the rest of the group creating a warm friendly atmosphere enhanced by the bonfire in the centre. I placed her bag down on a log beside my hoody and asked if she fancied following the guys in for a swim. She nodded eagerly at this and skipped back a little into the woods to change. When she emerged I couldn't help but stare, she never ceased to amaze me, she was so confident and happy she hadn't a care in the world. Lacing her fingers with mine she pulled me out of my trance and towards the water.

Luci's pov:
I was aware of what he was doing, he seemed to be showing the rest of them that I was his. I was a bit confused about this at first so I decided to talk to Jake who seemed to be fairly knowledgeable on the topic that is Embry Call. I asked Jake quietly "did something happen to Embry's crush cause he's been hanging out of me all evening and I'm confused", Jake wore a look of disbelief "It's you you're his crush you nancy" he swatted at me and as he said those words I realised how oblivious I had been. "Me ?Are you sure Jake" "yes Luce, do you not see the way he looks at you". I breathed out a sigh of relief and suddenly felt a lot more at ease. "thanks Jake" I beamed at him and skipped away

Now, in the water beside Embry I've never felt more alive. We splashed eachother and Embry put me on his shoulders to wrestle against Seth Clearwater ( an adorable 14 yr old who just radiated the sun from his pure heart) who was perched on top of Jake. I got distracted as I was too busy laughing and wobbled off Embry's shoulders. He dived to catch me and succeeded and I ended up cradled in his arm. The moment didn't last long as the mention of food back up at the bonfire was too irresistible for everyone. I munched away and chatted with everyone for a bit until the fire had dried me enough I could change back into my own clothes. Stepping back into the dense trees I began changing but I got the sense I was being watching, feeling rather uncomfortable I wrapped my towel around me and ran to Embry. "hey Em I think there's someone in there, I just feel like I'm being watched" I watched as Embry's eyes grew dark. Embry felt Luci's worry and suggested they move down a bit and find a rock she can get changed behind. Being the gentleman he was he closed his eyes and waited for me to signal I was ready.

He threaded his fingers through mine and we began walking slowly down the beach , whispering between ourselves. We were far enough away that the bonfire was only a shimmer when Embry pulled me in front of him. "Luce I don't know how to say this but, I like you, I really like you and I just need you to know", I forced myself to meet his gaze and found myself lost in those gorgeous brown eyes. His face dropped and I heard him muttering "not the right time you idiot" and watched as the russet coloured skin on his cheeks turned a familiar shade of pink. "Shhh" I whispered reaching up to cup his cheek in my palm, he reached for my hand and held it against his face. I found myself gazing into his eyes again, "I like you too Em, a lot" I breathed out barely making a sound but we were close enough together it didn't matter. He glanced down at my lips and back to my eyes and I felt my heart speed up. I nodded and he leaned his head down to reach mine, but just before our lips touched my bloody phone rang again ruining yet another moment. I decided to ignore it but when Charlie flashed across the screen I grew worried - he never calls only texts unless it's important. "I'm sorry Em I have to take this" "he nodded in understanding.

Embry pov:
That was it, the moment we had just confessed our feelings to eachother and her stupid phone had to ring breaking us out of the mini bubble we had surrounded ourselves with. I muttered bitterly to myself till I caught her face, sick with worry and all my selfish thoughts washed away. She looked over towards me, "Em, Bella's missing. I need to tell Jake and we need to bring him and Billy home with us". I nodded making sure she knew I was there for her, we grabbed her bag and sprinted back to the group to tell Jake the story.
