Chapter Four

The choosing ceremony finished and Dauntless were the first faction out of the door. This was due to the fact that they were not walking out in an orderly fashion, everyone was running with the members at the front and all the initiates at the back. Altogether there seems to be 19 initiates with 10 Dauntless-Born and 9 transfers. I can see that I am the only Abnegation transfer and there are not any Amity. Not that I would expect it any other way. Finally there are also 5 Candor and 3 Eurdite transfers. All the Dauntless members begin to climb to the train platform so I follow. As I reach the top of the platform, I hear the beeping of the train coming round the corner. All of the others begin to run alongside the train and jump on so I follow. I jump onto the last cart which seems to be where all of the other transfers seem to be. I stand in the middle of the cart holding onto one of the hand rails to ensure that I don't fall over.
Someone bumped into me so I turn and I see a Candor girl. I apologise and she returns saying it was her fault. "I am Jamie" she replies by saying her name is Zoe. She tells me how she thinks that they are trying to kill us and she just laughs. I feel someone brush past my back so in natural Abnegation reactions, I swiftly turn around. I notice another Candor boy with another two Candors, one boy and one girl. "Oh, a stiff. You definitely are not going to last long. I see you already don't like getting touched so how on earth are you going to be able to fight anyone" As he says this the other two Candors beside him laugh. "Leave her alone Jack, no need to be such an arse" I hear Zoe say from behind me. "Calm down Zoe, I am only be ping friendly to our little stiff friend here". As Jack says this he places his hand on my backside and squeezes. I quickly pull his hand off me, and I'm one swift motion I pull hit behind his back and push his arm up. He cries out at this for someone to help but no one moves. I notice all the other initiates are staring at me. I begin to pull his fingers back and I hear a crack but then someone speaks up. "What on earth is going on here?" I turn to see what seems to be a Dauntless Member staring directly at me. I release Jack and left him fall the the floor where a different member goes over to him and seems to begin examining his hand. "Well, initiate, what do you think you are doing?" Says the same member who asked what was going on. I look up to him and see his face is full on piercings and he seems to have many tattoos traveling up his neck. He seems to be giving me some kind of death glare. I still do not respond so he begins to talk. "Cat got your tongue stiff". He continuously looks at me and I think he is probably the same age as my brother and sister. I decide that I should respond to this question. "No" I give him a short and blunt answer and look at him directly in the eyes. All the Dauntless-Born look at me like I am mad, but he does not intimidate me, I will not be intimidated by a bully. "So, you can speak stiff, explain what you think you were doing." I hear a wail and I turn to see Jack who seems to be in a lot of pain and discomfort. I smile and think that will show him to stay away from me. I turn back and look at the other guy. "I don't want to talk to you about it, nothing happened". As those words left my mouth he looks at me as if I will regret it immediately. "Well stiff, what's your name?" He glares as he asks this question. He doesn't really care about my name so I have no clue why he is asking. "Well who is asking?" I ask him back. He looks around at everyone else and they all seem scared, while doing this he laughs. "Well, let me introduce my self, My name is Eric. And I am one of the five Dauntless Leaders. Ok?" I nod and realise that I may be in a little bit of trouble. Hell, what am I thinking, I am in shit loads of trouble.
"Ok then Eric, my name is Jamie. And let's say, I may have slightly hurt Jacks arm and hand. But he should keep his hands to himself. Then there will be no problems". He laughs as these words leave my mouth. "Never thought I would meet such a confident stiff" I interrupt him "Jamie, my name is Jamie. Not stiff". "Well initiate, I will call you whatever I want to call you, whether that is stiff or not. Got it?" He continuously glares at me and I can see how people can be intimidated by this guy but not to me, this is not as bad as Marcus. I nod to show that I understood as I really do not want to be talking to this guy right now. "I will not forget this" Eric says as he walks away through to another compartment.
A group of Dauntless-Borns walk towards me. "You seriously have a death wish" One of them says. "Yeah, I mean seriously, talking to Eric like that. I am surprised he didn't hang you out of the train. He was the youngest ever leader and is now join youngest. He his the most intimidating though." I nod to acknowledge what he says. "He don't scare me, I have seen worse." They laugh at that and one of them says "well watch it, he should scare you. Anyway, my name is Jackson, this is Jayden, Logan and Em". He says while pointing to the others. "Well I am Jamie," they cut me off "yeah, we know. Everyone is going to know who you are in the whole compound. " I laugh. For the rest of the journey I sit with those and I am joined by Zoe and some of the other transfers.
