Everyone apart from the members all jump on to the roof. We walk over to the ledge and I see Eric standing on the ledge and he is staring at me. I smile at him but he continuously glares at me. "Right, my name is Eric and I am one of your leaders. If you want to enter Dauntless, then this is your way in." We look over the edge and see that there is a big black hole and that is all you can see. "Well, stiff" I turn and look at him."since you are so confident, you can have the pleasure of going first." I can see the evil smirk on his face just like Marcus used to have before each beating. I hop up onto the ledge and turn around. "Eric, my name is Jamie, but I'm going to shorten it to Jay. Not stiff." With that I hear gasps from the other initiates and I turn and jump. I feel like I am falling for hours but it is only a matter of seconds.
I then bounce back up and realise that I have landed on a net. The net falls to the side and I notice that someone is there to help me get off. "What's your name initiate." I turn towards the guy about to say Jay but then I see who it is. It's my brother. Tobias. He doesn't remember me. "Come on initiate, how hard is it. You can pick a new one if you want but you don't get to pick again." I look around me and see other members waiting for me to ask his question. I turn and look him in the eye. "My name is Jay." I say with a seriousness in my voice which he does not seem to notice though. "First Jumper, Jay, welcome to Dauntless". He says the first part to everyone and the last part jump to me. He then pushes me towards the other members where I stand to wait for the other initiates to come down. Finally. When they are all down, Eric jumps and when he comes off the net, he glares at me as if he wants to be able to kill me.
