"Good morning Mr Maina?" I greeted as I entered through the gate. "Are you leaving?"
"I've had enough of that boy. Please talk to him." He said fuming. What did that boy do? "I'm off to work. Don't worry, feel free to eat the cookies but don't let Rita see you."
"So I'm allowed to steal?" I asked with a playful smirk and that had him chucklig. He looks good smiling.
"No, stealing is bad." He pointed at me.
"But...."
"Just take them while she's not watching. She doesn't like it when we eat them before a meal. I still wonder why she bakes them." He shook his head. "Well, get in son. You will meet my wife who will direct you to his room." I nodded getting in but didn't miss the shift of curtains at a window.
"Hello Mrs Maina." I said as I went to her. She was seated comfortably on the three person seat with her feet up, a remote on her hand and phone on the other hand and a glass of juice on the table in front of her. "I see you are enjoying your weekend." She smiled.
"Hello Jaime." She placed the phone down. "How many times have I told you to call me by Rita? Any way. I know why you are here and I'm glad you agreed this time to come. He is in his bedroom. Just go through the hall you will hear music."
"Thanks ma'am." She waved her hand. "I'll go see him now." First things first. Where are those cookies?
"Cookies on the dining table." She sighed. "I know he told you." I rushed and took 3 chewing on one. Wow, this are good.
"Your mum makes the best cookies in the world. She should enter, you know that show, Bake off?" I budged in without knocking.
"Back off." He murmured.
"Ouch, can we at least talk without fighting?" I asked tilting my head. He stood turning to me coming closer till we were chest to chest.
"Get out." I took a step back. He moved forward again.
"Haven't you heard of personal space and respect?" I took another step back while pushing him back too. "I'm here to talk. Just that."
"Get. The. Fuck. Out." I sighed as he locked the door right in front of me.
"I'm sorry about that." His mother whispered behind me making me jump.
"Jesus, you almost gave me a heart attack." She apologised again. "Hey, don't worry. I am not giving up easily." I said following her to the living room. "I'll be back on Monday. Just, can I have more cookies?
"Sure. I guess you enjoyed it?" I nodded stuffing my face. "So, Monday?"
"I'll get him to go to school. I promise." I said as she sighed. I hate seeing my mother sad or crying. I hate seeing any woman cry cause I always relate them to my mum. "Please don't cry. He will be fine." She nodded sniffing.
"Thank you Jaime."
"Don't thank me. I'm going out to see a friend." She smiled. "I have to go. See you tomorrow at church."
"Okay, bye." I waved leaving with a handful of cookies.
"Hey son. How was today?" Mum asked sitting next to me.
"Fruitless, not that much because I got cookies." She chuckled.
"What now?" She asked putting Teenwolf. "I still don't get this movie." I laughed she hit me. "I really want to watch it."
"Well, start from season 1 then." She already was at season three. She hit me again. "Hey, that's child abuse."
"Oh grow up, you are an adult now." I took the laptop from her and started playing season 1. Little Tina joined with her mother. "Go make us popcorn." She ordered her lips twitching.
