"Any prayer request before we close the fellowship?" As usual, I turned around looking at everyone's faces. The leader smiled but before he said something else, another lady spoke. I, most of us sighed. She always waits until when one starts to speak that she speaks.

"I would like to give my thanks to God for my daughter who is graduating next week. I would also want to thank you all for your support through everything and uh.. you are all invited." We all smiled at the good news.

"Mrs Matilda isn't feeling well so, Please add her to your prayers." The leader's wife spoke everyone nodded saying their sorries. "Mr Maina, are you okay?" It seems that it wasn't only me who noticed his down mood.

"Yes, it's just that I'm worried about my son." He said holding his head. I didn't have a problem with him pouring his heart. This group is a trusting group. It's hard to find someone gossiping out of the fellowship, fellowship matters. "He is destroying his life. My life." I felt him. He is a nice person as far as I know, he doesn't deserve such problems from his son. "I'm tired. I'm soon giving up on him."

"Oh, No. This is not the time to give up, we can still do something." My mentor. Mrs Lattifah said. She is the teacher at the church for youths. "Leave him to me. Or, Jaime." I turned to her. "Can you talk to him?"

"I don't know but I'll try." Mr Maina lifted his head with hope in his eyes.

"If only he could just finish his education. I would be the happiest person." He said. The leader cleared his throat.

"We will always keep Dennis in our prayers Maina." He murmured a thank you. "Any more requests? None? Okay let's stand up for prayer." We all stood sang a worship song before praying.

"I know you will help him." Mrs Lattifah said then turned to Mr Maina. "I trust him. He will try his best.

"When will you be coming around. He hasn't gotten out of his room for a while."

"I might come on Thursday tomorrow I'll be needed somewhere." I said then said my good nights before leaving with my mum. "Hey mum, what's up?"

"Nothing son. I have a feeling we won't be receiving this month's salary. It's been 3 months in a row right now." She said sighing. "And your sister, speak to her for me please. I'm also giving up on her."

"Hey, I'm trying my best here mum.she just won't listen. We will just let her learn from the world?" She shook her head. "About your salary. I still have my job. We still have something to eat and a roof on our heads. I don't think we need more."

"I want you to go back to school son, you need to finish that course." I sighed.

"And I will mom. But for now, we need to help each other with everything." She smiled patting my cheek.

"What did I do to deserve a good son?"

"You are a good mother mum." She smiled as we got into out home. "It's your turn to pray Tasha." Mum said as we all got ready for bed. Them to their bedroom and I to the living room. We live in our own house, though it's small, one bedroom and a sitting room and a kitchen with the toilet and bathroom outside, we are glad we ain't paying any rent. Just water, electricity and food is what we worry about. I finished setting my bed, mattress on the floor, my sheet and duvet and a mosquito net, then gave the go ahead for prayers.
