Continuation of the previous story. :)
"Shota!!" You yelled from your seat at the edge of your bed. You had been feeling contractions for a little while now and decided to wait them out a little longer before heading to the hospital. You had just stood up to grab some food and as you stood, your water broke.
"Shota!" You called again, waddling out into the living room.
He came running from the kitchen at high speed, stopping just in time before he slammed into you in his panic. "Is it time?" He asked, worry lacing his voice.
Another contraction hit you and you winced, clutching your large, pregnant stomach. "Yes, it's time. Grab the bag, I'll meet you in the car."
For the past week or so, you and Shota had been preparing for this moment. Your due date was in a few days and you both wanted to be prepared. You had packed a bag and had it on standby so it would be an easy, stress-free trip to the hospital.
You slipped on your shoes and waddled out to the car, slowly lowering yourself in the passenger seat. Shota was not far behind with the bag and some other necessities, including the snack he had been making you before your water broke.
He loaded the car and handed you the snack, hopping in the driver's seat and speeding towards the hospital.
The drive to the hospital and the sign-in was fairly easy. You noticed the contractions were beginning to get worse and they were much closer together. The doctor and nurses were in and out of your room for what felt like hours but in reality, was only one or two.
After a few particularly bad contractions that left you gasping for breath and your poor husband's hand sore, the doctor told you to start pushing.
The pain was unbearable. The worst you've ever felt. Time seems to drag on as you pushed, squeezing Shota's hand the whole time. He was trying to comfort you in any way he could, speaking sweet words to you and rubbing your head. Your pained screams filled the room as you pushed one last time. Relief flooded your veins as you heard the loud cries of a baby. You relaxed into the bed, exhaustion catching up to you.
"Congratulations, it's a boy!" The doctor exclaimed.
You looked over at Shota who was staring at you in awe. He kissed your forehead softly, "You did it, Baby, you did it." He whispered into your hair, leaning his head on yours.
The doctor spoke up again. "Mr. Aizawa, would you like to cut the umbilical cord?"
Shota stood up, slightly wobbly, and headed down to cut the cord. The nurses quickly cleaned and wrapped your new baby, handing him to you. His screams had calmed and he was now whimpering softly in your arms. He had a soft head of black hair, like his father. You caressed his face, rubbing your finger on his cheek.
Shota leaned over, wiping a tear from your cheek that you didn't even know had fallen. You looked up at him and saw he was crying as well. You both shared a soft, loving kiss.
"What are we gonna name him?" He asked, returning his attention to the little bundle in your arms.
You thought for a second before responding, "Oboro. Oboro Aizawa."
Shota's breath caught in his throat. He smiled, more tears falling from his eyes. "That sounds like a great name."
You nudge your husband, shifting Oboro in your grip so he could hold him. Shota lifted him gently and held him close to his body. You looked at the two people you loved the most in this world and smiled.
Leaning back in the bed you whispered, "I'm so tired."
Shota chuckled, "Rest now baby. You did amazing."
He kissed your forehead one last time before you closed your eyes and fell into a gentle sleep.
