"Daddy! Help me get this box down!" Oboro shouted, pointing to a rather large box labeled "Christmas."

Shota reached up towards the box and with a loud grunt, pulled the box down. He followed Oboro to the living room where you and Eri were decorating the tree.

"Mommy! Here's another one! Daddy almost missed it," Oboro said while Shota set the box down.

"Ah, thank you, Oboro. Why don't you help Eri decorate the tree?" You asked. Oboro immediately dove into the box of ornaments and started adding them to the tree.

Shota sat down on the couch to watch the two of them while you went and started the hot cocoa. The two of them had very different decorating styles. Eri was gentle and thoughtful in her ornament placement. She made sure no two ornaments of the same color were too close and pinched the hooks lightly to make sure the cats didn't knock any of them down. Oboro, on the other hand, was chaos. He nearly broke several ornaments and hooked them wherever they fit.

You walked back into the living room with a tray of hot cocoa and cookies. Oboro immediately ran to you and grabbed a cookie from your tray. You giggled as Eri took advantage of his distraction and rearranged several of his ornaments.

You sat down next to Shota, handing him his cup of cocoa. He sighed contently as he sipped his drink, leaning his head on yours.

You looked up at him, watching his thoughtful expression. "What'cha thinkin' 'bout?"

He chuckled at your tone and looked down at you, "Just thinking about how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family."

You smiled at his reply and snuggled into his chest. He wrapped his free arm around you and kissed the top of your head.

"Papa, can you help me put the star up?" Eri asked, holding the big gold star.

"Hey! I was gonna put the star up!" Oboro complained, crossing his arms.

"Oboro, you got to do it last year, it's Eri's turn," you said, pulling him into your arms.

Shota lifted Eri up and helped her put the star on the tree. Oboro cheered as Shota swung her around the room. Eri squealed and giggled in his arms as he flopped onto the couch.

He huffed and melted into the couch, "Ugh, decorating is such hard work."

"Papa! You didn't do anything!" Eri complained.

"I did! I brought in the boxes."

You laughed and handed Shota his hot cocoa, which was now just warm. He thanked you and grabbed a cookie as well. The four of you relaxed on the couch, watching the tree, and chatting quietly. The weather might be horrible, but right here, on this couch, with the ones you love, you were content.
