A/N- You made it past the sad chapter! Here's a sweet one about kittens to make you feel a bit better. :)

You heard the front door of your shared apartment open and Shota's tired voice call "I'm home."

"Welcome home Sho', how was work?" you asked, finishing up the dishes you had been washing.

"Eh, tiring," he replied, "I need a nap."

You smiled at his reply. "Well, once I'm done here, we can go cuddle, alright?"

After turning off the faucet, you heard a faint sound coming from Shota's direction.

"Shota, did you hear that?"

"Ummm, nope. What sound?" he asked, sounding suspicious.

There it was again, a faint mewing. You dried your hands on the nearest towel and rested them on your hips.

"You brought home another one, didn't you?"

"What do you mean?" he asked, rubbing the back of his neck, "Another what?" As he finished, a small head popped out of his scarf. A small black kitten stared at you from its cozy spot on your husband's shoulder.

You sighed, "Shota. We don't need another cat. We have two!"

"But she needs us! She was all alone and needed a home," he pleaded, picking the small kitten from his scarf and cradling it in his arms.

You walked over and gently picked up the kitten, surveying it for any injuries or fleas. After finding it fairly clean, you sighed, holding it against your chest. "I guess we can make room for one more. But no more cats after this! You can't keep bringing more home."

"Alright, alright, no more cats."

"Promise?" you asked, holding out your pinky finger.

He sighed and locked his pinky in yours. "Promise."

You giggled and kissed him on the cheek. You'd have to get the new kitten situated and used to the other cats. For now, you set her up in the bathroom, complete with a bed, toys, litter box, food, and water. You gradually let the other two cats, a long-haired white one, and an orange tabby, get used to the new kitten. While they were a little wary of the new, energetic addition, they didn't fuss about it too much, which you were thankful for. Maybe this new kitten wouldn't be too bad.
