Homecoming

You nervously wring your hands as you stand in front of the airport doors. Shota had been gone for so long, you were anxious to see him.

Shota had been on a business trip for months now, well, you wouldn't call it business. He got called in for a kidnapping case that took him out of Japan, chasing the culprit and his victim. Now that the man was captured and the victim safely back home, it was time for Shota to return as well.

You checked your watch again, he should have been here by now. His plane landed an hour ago, and you were worried he wasn't coming home at all. That he got caught up somewhere and wasn't able to get a hold of you.

You turned from the door, trying to calm yourself and reassure yourself that he was returning back to you. He had to.

"Y/N!" came a yell from behind you.

You turned quick as a flash, setting your eyes on the source of the sound, locking eyes with your husband.

You started slow, walking towards him, then your excitement got the best of you. Sprinting, you raced towards him, tears spilling from your eyes. He dropped his bag, taking a few steps before catching you in his arms, hugging you so tight, you felt like he'd never let go. You both cried into each other's shoulders. Relief that he was finally how flowed through you as you relaxed into his strong embrace.

You sniffled, "I missed you."

"I know," he said, squeezing you tighter, "I missed you too."

After a moment longer, you both let go. Reaching down, he grabbed a bag while you grabbed the other. "Let's go home," he said, grabbing your free hand in his, squeezing it lightly.

You nodded, tears still lingering in your eyes, "welcome home Shota."

He kissed your forehead before turning towards the door, "feels good to be home."

A/N- Hey!! I'm back! (finally) Sorry about the long wait. School and work got the best of me, then I had to return my laptop to the school since I graduated, and blah blah blah. Anyway, I got a new laptop, so I should be able to get back into my usual writing schedule! I might only update once a week since I'm kinda running out of ideas.
