It was a concussion that kept Eva in the hospital for a week, that blow to the head was a little worse than expected. Viola and Kiki paid her a visit with some well wishes from Philippe. Antoine was by her side most of the time when he didn't have any missions to do. From what Antoine's been telling her, the streets have become more tense due to the Saints' interference, so much so that there's been a few skirmishes between both gangs that was broadcasted on the news."Do you think that we'll be in a gang war?"
"We were already at war when the Saints refused our offer on the plane." Antoine replied curtly.
"So, what happens now?"
"What do you mean?"
Eva pulled Antoine closer to her. "The plan?"
"Mr. Loren will be talking to you shortly about that, as soon as you are able to leave."
"Looking forward to that." Eva sighed.
"Don't be nervous, he just wants to make sure that you remember what you're doing." Antoine reassured.
The two were interrupted by the sound of clacking heels, as a brunette nurse approached Eva's bedside. "Ms. Roman, looks like you'll be going home early today. Dr. Smith should be in a few minutes, while you wait, I need you to fill out these release forms." The nurse gave Eva a clipboard and headed out of the room.
"Looks like we'll be talking soon in no time." Eva began filling out the paperwork.
"I'll notify Mr. Loren." Antoine left her bedside with his phone in hand.
Eva was soon interrupted again by another set of footsteps. Dr. Smith approached Eva's bedside with a friendly grin. "How are we feeling today, Ms. Roman?"
"Better than when I came here."
"Good, good. Well I've checked your vitals and x-rays. Try to take it easy for the next couple of days, nothing too strenuous. Also if you still have any pain, I've prescribed you some painkillers, and if you still feel any unusual pain, please come back so we can look at you again."
"Sure, thanks doctor."
"Anytime."
Antoine let the doctor pass him before he returned to Eva's side. "Get dressed, you're meeting him in half an hour."
"So much for resting up."
"It's really urgent this time. So we got to get moving."
After being discharged from the hospital, Antoine and Eva drove down the highway, headed to the Syndicate Tower. Eva fastened up the buttons on a blazer Antoine gave her, as she was still dressed in her party attire. She was dreading the conversation that was going to be had with Philippe because she knew what he was going to be talking about. The concussion took her mind off it for a bit, it cleared her mind.
The whole double agent thing was nerve-racking, but it's not like really had a choice. Philippe was still the leader of criminal organization, her life is pretty much determinant on his end. She didn't want to want die, and she definitely didn't want to become part of the Morningstar sex trade, if he was sick enough to do that. Not to mention she already spent five months with them, so even if she ran, it wouldn't be a problem to find her, courtesy of Matt Miller's hacking abilities, she would be good as dead.
