My palms sweat anxiously as I sit in the leather chair, the cool air of the reception area creating a chill on the back of my neck as I awaited my interview with Johanna, the editor-in-chief at the Penguin Publishing House here in Chicago. This would be my second interview with her, as I had already made it past the prescreening. I had eagerly been waiting for her phone call, hoping by some miracle I could make it to just one more round of interviews so I could hopefully secure this position. I swallow the anxiety that's building in my throat as her secretary calls me back. My legs feel wobbly as I walk through the long hallway, sleek offices and cubicles lined on every wall.

Johanna sits at her desk, writing something down carefully. Her hair falls over her face, obscuring the large scar that took up the better part of half her face. She looks up when we enter, smiling warmly at me.

"Tris! I'm so happy you could come see me again." She offers me a seat, which I gladly take because I'm worried my legs are about to fail me.

"I'm happy to be back again." I answer honestly. "This is a position I've been extremely interested in, and I've been very impressed with the community and the overall atmosphere of the office."

"Well, I'm certainly glad to hear that. You are, by far, not only the most qualified candidate we've had, but also the most charming and charismatic. I can tell you have a strong work ethic, and that's exactly what we need around her." My cheeks heat up at her compliment, and my heart starts to beat a little faster.

"So, are you saying...?" She smiles, extending her hand for me to shake.

"Welcome to Penguin Publishing, Tris. We're so excited for you to join our team." My eyes sting with tears, as I grasp her hand, letting out a small laugh.

"Thank you so so much. I cannot tell you how much this means to me." She walks back around her desk, sitting down to face me.

"You were my top choice from day one, and you continued to impress both myself and Jack." She slips a heavy stack of paper over to me. "This is your contract, we'll obviously go into more specific details next week with our lawyers, but it basically says the essentials." She pauses, looking me in the eye.

"I understand you're currently working another job. We do require this as a full time position for you, and we would need you to put in your two weeks immediately. Is that going to be an issue, is that position something you're attached to." My mind goes to Eric and the bar. I would miss working with Tori, but it was time for me to move on from that hellhole.

"Absolutely not."

I practically slam the door to Tobias's apartment. He jumps slightly from his position in the kitchen, dressed in a tight black t-shirt and the grey joggers I've come to love on him.

"Woah! What's going on?" He asks. I throw my bag on the floor and fist his shirt in my hand, pulling him down for a searing kiss. He returns with just as much enthusiasm, gripping me tightly to him and sliding his hand down to cup my ass. I feel his tongue slip in with mine, and I desperately try to return his dominance. When he pulls back I nip at his bottom lip, making him groan.

"What happened?" He asks, still clutching me tightly. My cheeks burn with how wide I'm smiling, and I see it slowly start to dawn on him,

"Holy shit, you got the job?"

"I got the job!" I yell. He picks me up and spins me around, causing me to shriek.

"I KNEW IT! I knew you would get it." He yells. He places me back on my feet. I reach up, brushing a loose curl back from his forehead.
