"Are you nearly ready? The taxi will be here any minute!" Harry called up the stairs, causing me to quickly throw on my shoes and take one last look in the mirror. It was New Year's Eve, and we were going to Liam's to celebrate. He didn't want to go out without Maya, so we agreed to have a few drinks at his instead. "Louis! It's here, hurry up!" I ran down the stairs, joining Harry at the front door and getting into the taxi that was waiting for us. When we got to Liam's we walked straight in, knowing that if we knocked, he'd complain about having to stand up to let us in.
"Nice of you to finally join us," Liam commented when we walked into the room. Niall and Zayn were already there, meaning we were the last to arrive.
"Sorry, Louis took forever to get ready," Harry laughed.
"Where's Maya?" I asked, not seeing her sat with the others.
"Upstairs, she'll be down in a minute," Liam answered, gesturing for us to sit down. I grabbed Harry and I some drinks before joining the boys in the living room. A few minutes later, Maya came in too, filling up the space on the sofa next to Liam. I jumped up, making my way to where she had just sat down. I squeezed myself between her and Liam, earning a huff from him as I did so. "What are you doing?" he asked, watching as I bent my head down to Maya's stomach.
"He does this every time I see him," Maya laughed, grabbing my hand and putting it onto her bump.
"Hello, baby, it's your favourite uncle," I said, hearing Niall scoff at my choice of words. As soon as I finished speaking, Maya gasped as her stomach moved slightly. "Yes, still got it!" I smiled, sticking my tongue over at Niall.
"I don't know how you always get a kick when you talk," she laughed, moving my hand around her stomach so I could feel it better.
"I can't help that I'm already loved," I chuckled, standing up and walking back over to Harry. After all the boys had failed at making the baby kick, we decided to play truth or dare to pass the time.
"I'm going first!" Niall shouted, looking around at all of us. "Okay, Zayn, truth or dare?"
"Truth," he stated, "I don't want to make a fool of myself too soon."
"You're boring! Anyway, tell me the truth, do you have your eye on anyone?" He looked at the floor before nodding his head.
"Yeah, I've been dating someone for a few weeks, and I think I really like her." Niall high-fived him, telling him that he was happy for him. "Right, Liam, truth or dare?"
"Truth," he replied hesitantly, and I noticed Zayn smirk at him.
"Would you rather have a boy or a girl?"
"You can't ask me that! That's not fair!" he complained, sighing as he knew he had to answer.
"It doesn't matter what you say, Li, it's just a game," Maya laughed, knowing that Liam would be finding this difficult to answer.
"Fine. Honestly, I'd love a son, but as long as they're healthy I'll be happy," he answered, smiling down at Maya's bump. "Harry, truth or dare?"
"I'm going to go with truth," he said, sitting up straighter as he waited for the question.
"Everyone's so reserved tonight!" I moaned, wanting to get to the fun part of the game.
"Be quiet, Louis. Harry, what is your least favourite thing about Louis?" Harry's eyes quickly met mine as fear spread across his face.
"Wow, Liam, that's a mean question," he sighed, taking my hand in his. "I'm sorry, Louis, please don't get upset?" I nodded, taking a deep breath as I waited to hear what my future husband didn't like about me. "My least favourite thing about Louis is how he treats himself. He is so hard on himself and judges himself too much. I just wish he could realise how amazing he really is." The room was silent as Harry spoke, and as the other boys looked between the two of us, I put my hand on Harry's cheek and gave him a gentle kiss.
