I stood with the other children in my class, as we all played waiting for our parents to come pick us up from school. I felt out of place, the girls were playing with dolls, and the boys are to rough. As a child that likes to read books, I didn't feel like I fit in.

"Look...it's Gaara..." One of the girls said to the other, the boys puffed out their chests to look tough. 'Who's Gaara?' I thought, looking up from the book I was reading. I see a small boy all alone wearing something on his back, he has red hair and teal eyes. He also had a small bear with him, I turn and look at my bunny.

'Maybe we can be friends?' I thought, but what one of the boys said made me curious.

"He's a monster!" He said loud enough for the one named Gaara to hear. I stood up and walked towards the boy. "Why is he a monster?" I asked, and he shrugged his shoulders. "My mom told me so, and that we have to stay away from him" He says and it makes me more curious and confused. "Well, your mom sounds horrible, she doesn't even know him" I say and turn away, walking towards the red haired boy.

"Look! ___ is going towards him!" One of the girls yell, I roll my eyes. 'Thanks for putting the attention on me...' I thought to myself.

I stop in front of the red haired boy, he looks up at me and I give him a smile. He looks highly confused, I push the swing he is on. "You know, a swing is better played with two people" I say and smile at him. "But, you don't want to play with me, I'm a monster" He says sadly, I lightly chuckle making him confused.

"If I didn't want to play with you then I wouldn't of have come over, and you aren't a monster, all I see is a boy who is alone" I say and he looks at me surprised. "Oh, look I have a plush too! Mines a bunny though" I say with a smile letting him hold my bunny. "Cute" He says with a smile and blush, which makes me blush too.

"Look mommy! She is playing with the monster!" I hear a kid say. When I looked over to the class, all their parents were here and looking at me and Gaara.

"___? Where is your mother?" One of the parents ask. "She's coming" I answer. "You shouldn't be near him, he is dangerous" They say. "Doesn't bother me, he never hurt me, which means I have no reason to not trust him" I say, I notice my mother looking around for me behind the parent. "I must go now, my mother is behind you" I say, I take Gaara's hand and lead him right behind me through the crowd.

"Mom" I call out to her, she looks at me with that gentle smile of hers. "There you are ___! Oh? Who's your friend?" She asks and Gaara puts his head down. "This is Gaara, he's a little shy" I say and she crouches down to Gaara's height, giving one of her gentle smiles to him. "Hello Gaara, I'm ___ mother" She greets herself, Gaara blushes. "Nice to meet you" He says quietly.

"Uh, miss, that child is a monster, I don't think you should let your child near him" A large woman says, she has her child beside her. "Oh? Bu-" My mother almost responded but I cut her off. "Excuse me, but just because you don't like or trust Gaara does not mean you can call him a monster! He is my friend! Also, give your child a better example of how to treat others, because he was the one who called Gaara a monster first earlier!" I fume, my mother smiles and the large woman looks shocked.

"My child is completely correct, you should not judge a book by it's cover" She says and her smile changes from a gentle one to a scary one. "Also, do not tell me how to teach my child, they are more mature than anyone here in this school" After saying that her smile and aura change back to her normal ones.

"I must go now Gaara, but tomorrow meet me by the swing again so we can play!" I say with a bright smile, my mother takes my hand walking towards home.
