Gaara x Reader {Heart of a monster}

I watched as Gaara encased himself in his sand. I sighed out of relief, I didn't even know I was holding my breath. "C'mon Gaara..." I held the necklace that Gaara had given me. More ninja arrived after a little bit, but I didn't bother to look and see who it was. My eyes were glued to the battle.

I couldn't hear anything, my ears drowned out the sound of the people around me. My thoughts going a million miles a second. I was so worried. But then Gaara used his sand coffin attack to crush the intruders arm, I could hear cheers around me. I calmed down a little after his attack.

I watched as orders started being thrown around and ninja running around. The village is now on high alert and getting ready to fight. Meanwhile me and Kankuro were watching the fight go on.

I watched as something started falling from the sky, it was huge! Then I saw a bright light, I shielded my eyes from the blast. When nothing happened I opened my eyes to see a huge layer of sand, it protected us from the blast. 'Gaara, you're truly amazing...' I thought to myself.

I looked back towards Gaara. Another explosion right next to him. "GAARA!" I screamed, I wanted to help but I'm not good with long range. Nothing happened for a second, but then a explosion can be heard from the inside of Gaara's defense. "No..." I was a mess, I was extremely worried for Gaara.

Whispers can be heard all around me after the explosion, all eyes on Gaara. I could see the sand falling from the shell he made around himself. 

Even though Gaara was weak after the blast, he still moved the layer of sand away from the village. While he was doing that, one of the ninja started the attack on the intruder. The arrows they fired didn't hit the intruder, and Gaara successfully put the layer of sand outside of the village. He fainted after he finished. 

He started falling, I was about to try and use my shadow clones to catch him, but the intruder got to him first...

"Gaara no!" I screamed and started jumping from rooftop to rooftop, trying to get closer to Gaara. Not to long after Kankuro started chasing him too.

"___! Go back!" He yelled and I shook my head. "No! I won't! I want to help my boyfriend and I will!" I said back and Kankuro scowled and let me continue. A couple other ninja joined up with us. 

The intruder was now landing, right where we had ninja guarding the entrance. But when we got there it was eerily quiet, if the intruder landed here there should be fighting. But there was no fighting, me and Kankuro were confused. 

"Lord- lord Kankuro!" One of the ninja yelled. "What've you found?" Kankuro yelled back. We all started moving towards the ninja. When we got there we were shocked to see all the ninja posted here were dead. "Wha- what happened?" Kankuro said. "It's a bloody massacre..." Kankuro said in disbelief. 

I started checking for survivors, and so did Kankuro. "Whatever happened, the ones who took Gaara passed this way and their getting farther away every second, let's move!" Kankuro said "Yes sir!" The others said in unison. 

We started running, but then not very long after one of the ninja noticed that there was a survivor. "Here sir! One of them is still alive!" He said and ran towards him. "Wait! Be careful how you handle him!" Kankuro yelled to the ninja. 

He picked him up and there was a paper bomb on his chest, explosions started going off and I ran towards the entrance. Rocks started falling all around me, by the time it stopped I made it out. I turned around to see if everyone else was okay. "Kankuro!" I yelled and waited for the dust to clear. 

Rumbling started coming from inside the mound of rocks. Something came out from the top, and then Kankuro appeared. I could tell he was angry by the look on his face. "These men need medical attention hurry!" Kankuro yelled looking back. I was guessing that there was someone behind the mound of rocks I couldn't see. 

I knew medical ninjutsu and went to Kankuro to help the ninja he saved. He said he was going to bring Gaara back. "Let me go with you" I said and he shook his head. "No, I'll bring Gaara back, I know that if anything happens to you Gaara will lose it" He said and I frowned but nodded. 

I watched as he ran into the dessert to bring Gaara back. "Be careful Kankuro" I said before starting to heal the injured ninja.
