Gaara x Reader {Heart of a monster}

I was in the middle of eating when Gaara came down the stairs, I smiled and waved while I still had food in my mouth. "Don't do that! Have manners" Temari said and I swallowed my food. "Hehe, sorry Temari" I said and took another bite of food. "Good morning Gaara" Temari said and Gaara grunted in return. 

"Alright I'm done eating, Gaara when you are done eating tell me and we can go the the Kazekage building" I said. "Let's just go, I'm not hungry" He said and I nodded. "Let's go then!" I said happily and we left the house. 

I looked around Suna, it looks almost the same as when I left. Minus the few new shops and houses. "Suna, still looks the same doesn't it?" I asked and he shrugged. "It does to me since I have been here longer than you" He said and I nodded. "I seen a couple new houses and shops" I said and he nodded. 

"By the way ___, are we gonna talk about that kiss you gave me after the chunin exams?" He asked smirking and I blushed heavily. "What a-about it, huh?" I asked and looked away. "I liked it, you should do it more often, or I will" He said and it made me super shy. "Sure...hey look we are here!" I said and started laughing to cover my embarrassment. 

We stood infront of the Kazekage's door and I knocked softly. "Come in" I heard on the other side, I opened the door to see the Kazekage and a Jonin. "I'm here for the strength test sir" I said and bowed. I noticed that Gaara didn't he just glared at the Kazekage. 

"Why did you bring Gaara?" He asked and I frowned. "Because he is my friend, I wanted him to see how much I improved over the years since we last saw each other" I answered and he scoffed. "Fine then, let's begin" He said and I was confused. "Wait he-" I had to quickly dodge the shuriken thrown at me. 

"I'm not ready!" I yelled. "Sometimes, in battle you don't have time to be 'ready'" He said and I quickly used  my shadow clones to surround the jonin. Then using my genjutsu I made him dizzy. He realized the genjutsu pretty quick. 

When I saw him first raise his arms to release the genjutsu I took it as my chance to charge at him and strike him. With the speed I was at now I hade time to make one quick but deep cut to his chest. He held the part I had cut with my kunai, we both retreated so there was distance between us.

I took a quick glance at Gaara who looked like he was about to kill someone, specifically the jonin I was fighting. I watched as the jonin looked towards the Kazekage and he nodded. "Alright that's enough, you are pretty strong ___, almost jonin level" He said and I smiled bowing. "Welcome to Sunagakure ___" The Kazekage said and I jumped up in happiness. 

I quickly turned around and hugged Gaara, I noticed the Kaze's expression and he looked shocked that I was able to hug Gaara and get as close as I am to him. "See I improved a lot since we last met!" I said as we left the room. 

"Should we go get something to eat?" I asked him and he nodded. "Even though you just ate breakfast you still have room to eat more?" He asked and I laughed. "Yep! I seem to never gain weight!" I said and he smirked. "What was that smirk for?" I asked and he shrugged. "I don't know" He said and I eyed him suspiciously. 

I then realized on thing that definitely didn't change in Sunagakure...the looks and whispers towards Gaara...
