Gaara x Reader {Heart of a monster}

"You do?" He asked and I nodded. "Couldn't you tell by the way I kissed you?" I asked and giggled. "I don't really know what love feels like so I couldn't tell" He said and I shrugged. "It's fine, and now you know" I said and smiled. 

"Well then, would you like to go on a date sometime?" I asked and I could see a small blush on him. "Sure" He said and I smiled brightly, I hugged him and we relaxed again. "Thank you ___" He said and I sent him a confused look. "For what?" I asked. "For loving me, even though I am a monster" He said and I smiled softly and rested my head on his shoulder. "You're not a monster, just so strong, you intimidate everyone!" I said and he smirked. "Was that your attempt at a joke?" He asked and I blushed. "Yeah, so what?" I said and he patted my head. "Good try" He said and I pouted.

After talking for a while Temari and Kankuro came back home. "Oh hey guys!" I greeted them, Temari smiled and waved. "I'm going to start on dinner" Temari said and I quickly got up. "Can you teach me?" I looked at her and she smiled. "Of course, come on" She said and I smiled at Gaara then left to the kitchen with Temari.

We had a fun time, I did almost burn down the kitchen once...but other than that it went great! "Wow, you were actually better than I thought" Temari said and I smiled happily. "Really?! I thought I was completely dumb when it comes to cooking" I said and laughed. "No, you were a little under average, but I can tell if you practice more you will become a decent cook" What she said made me feel happy. 

"I'll go get Kankuro, you go get Gaara" Temari said and I nodded, wiping my hands and leaving the room. I hummed while walking over to Gaara's room. I knocked on the door, I could hear a "come in" so I opened the door and peeked my head in. "Gaara? Foods done!" I said, he looked at me and gave me a nod.

I walked in and sat on his bed, he looked at me. "What are you doing?" I asked him and he looked back at the book he had. "I'm writing" He said, which surprised me. He didn't seem like the type to write. "Oh? What about?" I asked and he closed the book. "About me..." He said and I could see his fist tighten. "Oh, well, you don't have to talk about it, I know that it's your own personal journal so I won't push it" I said smiling at him, I got up and grabbed his hand. "Come on time to eat!" I said and smiled at him.

"Thank you again ___" He said and I gave him a thumbs up.
