Gaara x Reader {Heart of a monster}

We made it to the house where I will be staying for a while, I looked around and it was pretty roomy. "I like this place, it feels nice" I said and he nodded. "Kankuro and Temari also live here so they will be like room mates" I nodded and smiled at him. "Here is the spare room, my room is next door, Temari's room is at the end of the hall, and Kankuro's room is downstairs" He explained and I nodded. 

I opened the door to my temporary room. There was a bit of dust, but other than that it is pretty clean. "I'm going to my room, you can do whatever you want" Gaara said before leaving the room. 

'Guess I'll start cleaning then' I thought and went to grab some supplies from the closet...

After a hour passed I heard a knock on the door, I opened it and it was Temari. "Oh, hey Temari!" I greeted her and smiled. "Hey ___, I just finished cooking, come down to eat" She said and I smiled nodding. "Okay, I'll be down in a bit, I'm just going to wash up" I said and smiled at her, she nodded and left. 

I put the supplies away and washed up before heading down to the dining room, where everyone sat. "Sorry if I'm late!" I said and took a seat. "Not at all, now let's eat" Temari said and we gave thanks before eating. 

I took one bite and the food was delicious! "Wow Temari, your cooking skills are amazing!" I said and she smiled at me. "Thank you ___, I try my best" She said and I ate up my food. "You should give me some lessons sometime, I'm not very good at cooking" I said and sheepishly scratched the back of my head. "Of course, it will be fun" I smiled and nodded. 

After everyone was done their food it was time to head to bed. I fell onto the bed and sighed. 'Today was fun, I'm glad I moved back, I missed Suna' I thought to myself. I turned over to look out the window where the moonlight was shining in. 'I wonder if tomorrow will go well...' I thought. 

I was about to close my eyes but I could hear a soft knock on my door. "Come in" I said and the door opened revealing Gaara, I smiled at him and waved him in. Throwing my legs over the side of the bed I looked at him. "What's up?" I asked and he sat down next to me. "You know ___, I'm glad you came back, it was hard all those years without you..." My eyes widened, that's something I never thought I would hear from Gaara.

I relaxed and hugged him. "I'm glad I came back too, I missed you everyday..." I said and he hugged me back. I then threw both of us back onto the bed. I laughed at Gaara's expression after I did that. 

"Stay with me tonight" I said and hugged cuddled him. "I can't, I'm sorry" He said and I was both confused and sad. "Why not?" I asked and he frowned. "It's because of the Shukaku, if I sleep he said he would take over" He said and I frowned sadly. "Alright, well at least stay with me until I fall asleep okay?" I asked and he nodded. 

I tucked my self into bed and closed my eyes, Gaara sat at the end of the bed where he waited for me to fall asleep...

I woke up the next morning hoping Gaara would still be there but he wasn't which saddened me. I stood up and got ready, then headed out the door. I knocked on Gaara's door, he opened it up looking annoyed but that face was replaced quickly with a smile. "Good morning Gaara!" I said and smiled. "Good morning ___" He said back and walked out of his room. 

"Your already all dressed up?" He asked looking at my outfit. "Yep! I do have to show my skills to the Kazekage after all" I said and he looked a little surprised. "Yesterday you didn't tell me about that" He said and I tilted my head in confusion. "I didn't? I guess it slipped my mind" I said and shrugged. "Do you wanna come and watch?" I asked and he nodded. "Sure let me just get ready" I nodded. 

"I'll be waiting downstairs!" I said turning away and heading down the stairs.
