Chapter 9

Maria's Point of View

Maria and Marcus walked into the house while holding hands. Maria felt so amazing after the kiss her and Marcus had. She was so happy and excited that he felt the same way about her. Maria thought that Marcus would reject her because she was poor. She knew that it was a ridiculous thought, but a woman can have her doubts.

Natalie was the first was to notice that Maria and Marcus were holding hands. She jumped up from the living room sofa and put her hands over her mouth.

"Yay!" Natalie squealed, "Ohmigod!"

"What is it, dear?" Caroline asked. Natalie pointed at Maria and Marcus as they walked more into the living room. Caroline gasped when she seen Maria and Marcus. Everyone, in the room, was so quiet.

"I think we broke them," Marcus whisper to Maria in her ear. Amelia was the first to break the silent.

"Mommy," Amelia spoke.

"Yes, sweetheart," Maria said as she and Marcus made their way to Amelia.

"Is Mr. Frazier going to be my new dad?" Amelia asked while she looked down at her feet.

Marcus let go of Maria's hand to bend down in front of Amelia. Maria watched as Marcus took Amelia's hand and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a jewelry box and opened it. Maria heart drop and tear begin to slowly begins to make their way down her cheeks. She couldn't believe that Marcus have accepted Amelia as his own. Natalie and Caroline were both shock and surprised that Marcus is doing this.

Marcus took the necklace out of the box and fastened it around Amelia's neck. Amelia smile with excitement and joy.

"Amelia, I present you with this necklace. This necklace shows how much I love you. I will protect you and care for you as you are my own daughter. I will be there for you when you go through the good and the bad. I will read you bedtime stories and play any game with you. You don't have to call me dad or daddy if you don't want to. I know that you already have a dad. I just want to be there for you," Marcus said, "So, by saying all of this, I will be your new dad if you want me to."

After Marcus were finished with his speech, Maria, Caroline, and Natalie were crying their eyes out. Amelia ran into Marcus's arms and hugged him hard. Maria couldn't believe what she was seeing with her own eyes. Amelia nodded her head.

Amelia nodded her head, "Of course, I would love for you to be my new daddy." Amelia looked at her new necklace, and she know that she will cherish it forever.

"I'm so glad you said yes because I have a necklace for me, too," Marcus replied, "Your necklace fits into mines. Do you want to read it?"

"Yes!" Amelia rejoice. Maria helped Amelia read the necklace out loud.

"It says 'This Girl. She Stole My Heart. She Called Me Daddy'," Maria looked at Marcus, "Thank you for giving my daughter this gift and accepting her as your own."

"You're very welcome," Marcus said as he kissed Maria again.

Marcus's Point of View

Throughout the evening, Marcus and Amelia played games. Marcus was so happy that Amelia accept him to be her dad, and he was also happy about Maria being his. Ever since Marcus met Maria, all he wanted to do was to make her is own. He also wanted to have kids, but he never found the right person for that. Marcus always thought that Alice would be the one that he would share everything with, but now he know that he was wrong.
