"Ya didn't take me seriously, Polnareff! Now ya really lost!" Hol Horse lifted his hand, and a gun magically appeared in it. He pointed it at you both and..

BANG

Time seemed to slow down as he shot the bullet. It spiraled in the air, and was going to hit you if you didn't act. You summoned Ravel and made a small bandage barrier in front of you and Polnareff, so that you could harden it right before the bullet passed through.

The bullet was about an arm's length away from the barrier, when it swerved around it. The bullet was also Hol Horse's stand!

You stood there with wide eyes; The bullet was headed straight for your head. A voice came from somewhere, it shouted "Y/n! Polnareff!"

Before you knew it, you and Polnareff got tackled onto the ground by Avdol. The bullet swung upwards, safely out of yours' and Polnareff's way.

"Wha- Avdol?" The Frenchman gasped in surprise.

"I was worried about you, and look what happened! You even dragged Y/n into harm's way, you're too arrogant!" Avdol scolded.

"Worried? Damn you! Are you going to lecture me again?"

You stopped them before they could argue anymore. "Everyone relax. Don't forget that we're in the middle of a battle. This isn't time to argue,  you can go do it after we win so just stay calm."

They both looked at you and nodded, but not before giving each other a dirty look. Just ahead, Hol Horse flipped a lit cigarette into his mouth.

"Well ain't that rotten timin' for a distraction." He sighed.

The bullet made a big circled in the air and swerved back towards you.

"Move, the bullet is coming back!" Avdol shoved you and Polnareff to the side and summoned Magician's Red. "I will burn it asunder!"

Something caught your eye behind him. There was a small puddle, and in it's reflection was the Hanged Man. Before any of you could take action, the Hanged Man plunged it's blade deep into Avdol's back. The next few moments went by too fast for you to take in.

The Emperor's bullet shot straight through Avdol's forehead. There was an endless flow of blood, all collecting in a puddle. Avdol's body hit the floor, the life from his eyes draining away. You froze up, he had the same look as your brother on that night; A stone cold body laying in a pool of blood with dead, emotionless eyes. Your breath hitched.

"A-Avdol!" Polnareff stuttered.

All the citizens that had crowded around you ran away in fear.

Hol Horse smiled. "Man, it's my lucky day! My gun an' J. Geil's mirror don't play well with Avdol's flames. We were thinkin' he would be the toughest one. Lucky!" He put away his gun and took a step back.

You stared after him, feeling a mixture of sadness and anger at Avdol's death. You couldn't do anything to save him; This was all playing out like that night your brother died! You grit your teeth, trying to control to urge to run after him and attack.

To your left, a grief-stricken Kakyoin showed up, his mouth was open in shock. You didn't even notice him there. He must have arrived at the same time Avdol did. He kneeled down and held Avdol's limp body, his hand that was on Avdol's back got stained red with blood.

"H-He's just injured... It's just a minor wound..." Kakyoin whispered, trying to convince himself everything was fine. "He'll start speaking again, he'll open his eyes at any moment..."

Watching him desperately shake Avdol's body broke your heart. You walked over and kneeled beside Kakyoin, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder.
