It was two years ago that my little brother died.
We were walking home together when he said he was thirsty. I looked away for just a second to get water from my bag when he disappeared. I took a glance around me, there was no one in sight. A dark alleyway was to the right, and I heard some noise coming from it.
Something glistened in the narrow passage. A small crimson trail, leading behind a dumpster. An undescribable feeling was in the air, it made my heart race and my arms began to shake. Slowly, I peeked around the dumpster. Behind it I saw a man with hair resembling a dust mop with bells hung on it, he was holding an axe that was tainted red at the end. Down on the ground, was my little brother, laying in his pool of blood.
I screamed at the top of my lungs which startled the man that attacked my brother, causing him to run. Without wasting time, I carried my brother and rushed to the hospital. Adrenaline, fear, and shock pulsed in my veins, making me run even faster. But that wasn't enough to save my brother. The doctors said that he lost too much blood and wouldn't last much longer. It took a few moments for the information to process in my brain. I would never see his cute smile, or hear his sweet laughter again.
That night I couldn't sleep. I kept on thinking of the man in that alley. He was the one that took my brother away from me. He killed my brother thinking he wouldn't get caught, yet when I saw him he just turned and ran like a coward. If the police caught him, what punishment would he get? 10 years maximum maybe? Thats not enough. It would only be reasonable to pay back a life with a life.
That day, I swore to get revenge.
After that incident, I wasn't the same person anymore. I became cold and distant, but most importantly, I gained an ability.
It could stand right beside me. It wore a white doctor's outfit with a red ribbon on the back made out of bandages. Only one white eye was visible, the other was covered by long red hair. One noticeable feature was its long scarf made out of bandages. This spirit seemed to show itself whenever I thought about the man in the alleyway.
It could heal injuries with its bandages, but it could also attack others. It could immobilize people with its bandages, pull it closer, and then punch at an insanely fast speed. For the past two years I've been training this spirit to prepare for the day I saw that murderer again.
{Present time, 1987}
The blazing sun woke me up, it was as bright as a deadly laser. With a sigh, I got dressed, prepared my lunch, ate a piece of toast and headed off to school. I was wearing a long sleeved sailor uniform with a skirt and I took a light gray sweater with me just in case.
My thinking was interrupted by loud squeals. Just up ahead there were a group of girls following a tall boy.
Must be a popular kid, I thought to myself.
"Jojo!", one girl called.
"Jojo what were you doing absent from school for four days?", another girl asked while clinging around 'Jojo's' arm.
"What are you doing clinging to Jojo's arm like that?! You're being way too clingy!", the first girl scowled.
How funny, its not like you waste your time following a guy all day. Thats definitely not clingy.
I caught myself looking at the boy who was apparently called Jojo. To my surprise, he was already looking my way. His dark blue eyes were cold and intimidating. I gave him one of my own glares that I've been practicing, before looking away and walking off to the school.
Apparently my classroom was on the second floor. I walked down the hallways trying to find it, when two kids ran past me. One was holding his eye, blood dripping down his hand. The other one screamed "The nurse is crazy! She just stabbed my friend's eye!"
Of course I didn't listen. If someone was in danger I wanted to help them. I would hate for anyone to end up like my brother. The nurse's room door was open, and I slowly peeked inside. There was the nurse, stabbing the guy I saw earlier in the cheek with a pen. A boy with dark pink hair was just sitting on the windowsill watching all the chaos unfold.
"I am human, but my loyalty is to him. Therefore..." the student in the green uniform started. "I shall kill you!"
At that moment the nurse lunged forward onto Jojo.
Not on my watch.
"Ravel!" I exclaimed, calling out my spirit. It grabbed its scarf and threw it around the nurse, restraining her before she could do any harm to the boy.
"You're going to regret doing that," the boy dressed in green growled.
Suddenly, a stripy green spirit came out of the nurse's mouth and shot itself towards me. My stand's bandages were still wrapped around the nurse, and there was no time to block the attack.
"ORA!"
The green spirit was sent flying onto the floor by a big purple hand. I turned to my left and saw that Jojo had a spirit too. The nurse was unconscious on the floor nearby.
Why does everyone seem to have a spirit?
"Noriaki Kakyoin, is this your stand? All green and striped, it looks like a shiny melon," Jojo's stand grabbed the 'shiny melon' by the head. Marks also appeared on Kakyoin's head.
"Both of your stands are no match for my Hierophant Green," Kakyoin boasted.
So its called a stand huh.
"Don't act so tough, I can see my finger marks on your forehead. If I crush your stand's head, looks like yours will be too."
All of a sudden, there was some sort of fluid coming out of Hierophant Green's hand.
"Feel the power of my stand's emerald splash!" Dozens of emeralds hurled towards me and Jojo. Ravel quickly made a barrier made of bandages around me and Jojo. "cling clang" the room was filled with the sound of emeralds hitting the barrier and then falling to the floor.
"What? No one can just deflect the emerald splash!"
____________________________Hah I said the funny! This chapter was 1080 words long. Idk if thats good or bad but whatever. Just to clear things up, your stand Ravel can harden the bandages to create a barrier.
Here's this week's picture.
