Frozen Over

Chapter 2

"Juvia, wake up!"
The blunette opened her bright blue eyes to see Meredy standing above her. "Meredy?" She asked, rubbing her eyes as she sat up in her bed.
"Have you forgotten it's our first day of our senior year?" Meredy asked with her hands on her hips.
Juvia sat up quickly, looking over at the clock on her side table. Luckily, it was only seven o'clock, but Juvia still jumped out of bed and ran toward her closet. Quickly, she pulled her school uniform that was hanging in the closet out.
Meredy giggled before walking out of the room saying, "Don't want to be late. Especially since your boyfriend will be there."
Juvia's eyes grew large as she quickly undressed. She had completely forgot that Fiore and Antle were joining this year. She was now a part of Fairy Tail High School, which is what the school board was calling the new school.
Shaking her head to clear her mind, the blue haired maiden undressed and redressed in her school uniform. Over her white colored shirt she wore a yellow vest and red tie. Her skirt was a plain shade of gray, and her high white socks went well with her black shoes.
Juvia then walked to the bathroom, brushing through her naturally curly hair before putting it up in a high ponytail.
"Juvia! We need to go if we want to be early," Meredy called from the kitchen of the small apartment.
"Give me a minute!" Juvia called before quickly brushing her teeth and giving one last look in the mirror. She then walked out into the kitchen where Meredy stood with her arms crossed.
"Sorry," Juvia apologized, picking up her bag from the table and putting it over her shoulder.
The girls then exited the apartment together, running down to the bus stop a block from their home.

Gray sighed as he closed the car door behind him. Holding his bag over his shoulder, he began walking to the entrance of the large school. He saw many new students, some he had seen before at Antle.
"What are they doing here?" He asked himself, giving them weird looks as he walked by.
"Gray!"
The boy turned to see Lucy waving at him from the entrance. Natsu, Erza, and Jellal stood beside her, each of them looking at him with smiles.
Gray waved with his usual smirk on his face, walking up to the others and resting his back against the wall with his arms crossed. His outfit matched Jellal's and Natsu's, a white collared shirt under a dark blue jacket. His pants were a dark shade of gray, and his shoes were dark black.
"Where is she?" Lucy asked impatiently, looking beside Gray as if to find someone.
"Who?" The boy asked, raising an eyebrow in suspicion.
"I went to the trouble of telling Lucy and Natsu about the girl last night," Erza said with a smile and Jellal's arm around her.
Gray felt his face turn pink, and he quickly looked down at his shoes.
The other four laughed, Natsu a little louder than the others.
"Even know her name, Icey?" Natsu asked, smirking at Gray.
"Juvia," Gray said, arms still crossed. "Her name is Juvia. What ever that's not important at the moment."
"But-" Lucy began but never finished as Gray turned to Jellal name continued.
"Why are you here, I must ask?"
Jellal let out a laugh. "You didn't hear?"
"About?"
"They joined the schools together to make a brand new one. They're calling it Fairy Tail."
Gray looked around at the other four, then his eyes grew large in realization. He quickly began looking around, looking for the one person he had wanted to see.
"She's not here yet, genius," Jellal said, smirking at Gray's actions.
"Ooh, Gray can I meet her? Please!" Lucy begged, pulling on his sleeve.
"She usually gets here about," Jellal said, looking down at his watch, "now."
Gray looked up as the city bus pulled to a stop in front of the school. And as Jellal predicted, there Juvia was, walking off while talking to Meredy. Gray's face suddenly became pink at the sight of the beautiful maiden.
"Hey, Juvia," Jellal called, waving a hand high in the air to get the attention of the blue haired girl.
Juvia quickly looked over, along win Meredy. Juvia smiled and waved back to him, her face turning a light shade of pink to match Gray's.
"Is that her?" Lucy whispered, watching the two girls slowly make their way over to the five.
Gray looked down at Lucy and nodded, "Yep."
Lucy smiled broadly, clapping her hands as she rushed over to meet the girls.
"Lucy, no!" Gray called, reaching out to grab her before she made it but was too late.
The blonde had already reached the girls and was energetically saying, "I'm Lucy. It's great to meet you two!"
Juvia gave her a smile before saying, "It's nice to meet you, too. I'm Juvia, and this is Meredy."
Meredy smiled kindly and gave a little wave.
"I was so afraid that Gray had met another weird girl. But you're not weird at all!" Lucy said with a smile.
Juvia giggled before looking behind Lucy at Gray. She waved shyly, at which the boy waved back with a smile.
Lucy then looked at Gray, smiling before turning back to Juvia and saying, "Oh, I'm sorry to intrude. I really should get going, but Gray, Natsu, and I were going to go bowling tonight. You really should come along." With that, Lucy walked back to Natsu, grabbing his arm with a large smile.
Meredy grabbed Juvia's arm and whispered, "I'll leave you to it. Meet you in class." With that, she smiled and walked away toward a group of students standing under the shade of a tree.
"We're going to go too, Gray. See you in class," Natsu called, waving as the four students walked into the large building behind them.
Gray then awkwardly walked forward, his right hand on the back of his neck. "Hi," he said, smiling awkwardly.
Juvia giggled before saying, "Hi."
"I honestly had no idea I'd be seeing you here," Gray said, letting his hand fall to his side.
"What did you think I meant when I said that I'll be seeing you soon?"
Juvia let out another giggle.
The sound made Gray's smile grow larger.
"Let me show you around the school later, and if you want, you can come with us bowling tonight."
Juvia smiled. "Is this your way of asking me on a date?" She narrowed her eyes as she smirked up at him.
Gray leaned his head closer to her, smirking in his own way. "Maybe I am."
"Well, if you are asking," Juvia began. "I'd be more than happy to say yes."
"Then I'm asking."
Juvia smiled and gently bit her lip before standing on her tip-toes and whispering in his ear, "Then it's a yes." She then gently kissed his cheek before pulling away.
"Meet me here at four," she called, walking away toward Meredy with a smirk.
Gray watched her walk away, still in a daze before whispering, "I'll be waiting."
