Frozen Over

Chapter 13

Silence filled the room.

No one knew what to say, or if what they heard was even real. Perhaps it was just a hallucination. A terrible, terrible hallucination.

"Can I have some water or something?"

A small cough followed the quiet voice, filling the incredibly quiet room with a bit of sound. 

Tears suddenly filled the dark haired male's eyes at the sound of the beautiful girl's voice. He immediately turned back toward the room, and there she was as beautiful as ever. 

Her blue hair sat in a perfect mess upon her head, even messy it was gorgeous. She finally was sat up in the bed with tired blue eyes that were still incredibly striking. She had various bruises and a cut along her cheek that was stitched up. The way her pale skin had finally taken some life back into it made her stand out against all the white in the room. 

At that moment, her eyes shot up to Gray's, and a smile covered her lips. 

"Well, hello there, love. I heard you were a little down without me, so I decided to come back," Juvia managed to whisper, keeping a very light, playful tone in her voice. 

Gray's bottom lip slowly began to quiver, and he felt himself biting down on it as tears fell down his face. A small, sad smile came to his lips as he whispered, "Damn you."

The teen then ran to the bed to wrap his arms around the girl, never wanting to let go.

A small sigh left the bluenette's mouth as she rested her head on Gray's shoulder, snuggling into his body a little deeper.

"Y-You're not allowed to ever do that again," Gray whispered into her hair, letting his hand continue to caress her locks. 

"I don't plan to. It didn't feel good," Juvia replied with a smile, slightly pulling back from the male to gently kiss his cheek before returning to her previous position. 

After a few minutes of staying in this caress, the two backed away from each other, but Gray wasn't about to leave her bed. He sat on the edge of it, keeping her hand safely in his while never letting his eyes leave her face. 

"Actually," Juvia began, turning toward the three other teens sitting in silence, "don't call it Rain. I like that for my own kid." Her blue eyes shifted to Erza, who sat with a wide smile. 

A small chuckle left the scarlet haired girl's lips before she replied, "Of course. I had a feeling that was saved for someone else."

The two laughed at each other, the old times slowly rolling back into the room. 

"I do like Scarlet, though. Like your hair, and your last name. Especially if she's going to be a Fernandes," Juvia said, giving a wink toward Erza. 

Erza's face immediately became the color of her last name, and her eyes shifted toward the ground. She then said, "We can talk about that a different time."

The group laughed, even the couple who hadn't spoke since Juvia had awoke. The blue haired beauty looked toward the two with a smile before saying, "It is nice to see you two too."

Lucy stood from her place, small tears trickling down her face before walking toward Juvia's bed. Juvia bit her bottom lip before showing the blonde a smile. 

"I thought we lost you," Lucy whispered, falling into an embrace with the bedridden girl. Her tears became lost in the blue mane of Juvia's. 

"You can't get rid of me that easily," Juvia teased, letting the blonde break down for a moment or two. 

"Thank God," Natsu said, putting his hands on his knees as he stood from the chair. "Lucy's been crying too much lately. She already was a cry baby."

"Shut up, Natsu!" Lucy squealed, sitting up from her position on Juvia to scowl at the boy. 

The friends laughed, and for the first time in days they were all happy.

Gray's eyes had finally stopped watching Juvia and closed as night fell. The other teenagers had left, but Gray didn't plan to leave until Juvia did even after all of her begging of him to go. 

The male now sat in a chair next to the bed, but his head remained resting on the side. He was sound asleep probably because he hadn't slept more then two hours each night since Juvia had been admitted to the hospital. 

Once finally noticing Gray's descent into sleep, the smile slipped from Juvia's face. Her face grimaced in the pain she had been hiding all day, hoping to make her friends happy. She wanted them to think everything would be better. She didn't want to worry anyone anymore. But once everyone was gone, she was free to be in pain. 

Slowly, tears fell from her eyes. A very quiet groan exited her mouth as she attempted to sit up a bit. A pain erupted from her chest and stomach area, leading her to believe that during the accident she may have broken a few ribs. Her fragile fingers gently traced over the stitches in her cheek, reminding her of the ugly scar it was going to leave. 

"I'm so stupid," Juvia whispered, closing her eyes and lowering her head. Several other parts of her body ached, but overall she just hurt. Her insides and outsides hurt. 

She collapsed back onto the pillow with a sigh, flinching as her back ribs hit the bed.

"And I can't even get out of here to see if Meredy is okay," Juvia complained, looking up toward the ceiling. 

Her blue eyes then slowly shifted toward the sleeping body next to her. His gorgeous, pale face was facing away from her, so only his jet black hair was visible. She smiled, leaning down closer to the head to let her face get lost in his mess of blackness. She breathed in the very familiar smell of his shampoo, sending memories to fill her mind. 

"Oh, how I love you," Juvia whispered, kissing his scalp. She fell asleep engraved in his smell. And for once second since she woke up, the pain was gone.

AHH FINALLY!! I'm so sorry it takes me so long to get chapters out! School is getting in the way. But I do plan to get them out very soon! I was up until three in the morning getting this all done, so you call know I'm very dedicated! XD I also have two big announcements. First, I'm starting a youtube channel! Just a little thing I've wanted to do where I'll make a story and animate it using the Sims 2. Then I'll get voice actors and hopefully it'll be like a little movie! (Frozen Over could even turn into one of those projects ;D). But I'd be very grateful if you would subscribe to my channel! The name is the same as my name on here! The second thing is that I'm going to be starting a new Fairy Tail fanfiction soon. I won't give away any spoilers yet, but I will say it is going to be a Jerza one ;D.
