Gray was always taught to never leave angry. He knew better than to leave things unfinished, but at the time, he could barely even feel his own fingers. He tightly gripped the wheel, making his knuckles turn white.

Somehow, he arrived at his destination without wrecking or bursting into tears. But it was close.

His dark eyes traveled up to the abandoned building in front of him, a sight too familiar to the male.

He locked the car, letting the beep of the car fill the silence in the air. He slid the keys into his pocket before walking toward the wall where a board sat against the wall. Gray threw down the wood before entering through the hole. Knowing exactly where to step, he followed his normal path to the couch and collapsed.

"You're such a dumbass, Gray," he scolded himself, placing his face in his hands.

<・・・・・・>

"You're never here!"

The screams filled the small house, leaving the small boy awake. His dark eyes scanned the wallpaper next to his bed, and he traced the small patterns.

"That's not my fault, Mika! I have to make money for this family!"

The bellowing scream of Gray's father seemed to shake the whole house, making Gray shudder. It wasn't very often he heard that tone of voice, and he had never had that voice directed toward him. It still scared him. It sent a shiver down Gray's spine.

"How do you think Gray feels, Silver? He doesn't ever get to see his father!"

To know he was the reason they were fighting made Gray's heart hurt a little more.

"He saw me today, didn't he?"

"That doesn't matter, Silver! One day, then you're leaving again without even saying good bye? To him? Your son?"

"I'm not going to wake the boy, Mika."

Gray's father's voice was slowly calming down, but Gray could still feel the temper in the air.

"You don't think he deserves that?" Mika replied, her voice now so quiet that Gray had to climb out of his bed and press his ear to the door to hear. "He's your little boy, Silver. You're suppose to be there for him."

"I know I am. I just can't always be right here, Mika. I have to make us money somehow unless you want to live out in the snow."

Gray heard his mother giggle. A small sound that he didn't expect to hear tonight.

"Wouldn't be the first time we've done something you're suppose to do in the house in the snow."

Gray cocked his head to the side, wondering what his mother meant.

Silver's chuckle filled the house, throwing out the anger and temper with it.

"I love you," Silver said, his voice filled with a smile.

"And I love you."

<・・・・・・>

Gray smiled, remembering the moment that made him realize that love could conquer any fighting his parents had. He also felt himself cringe at what his mother had said, now realizing what she had meant.

Their relationship was always amazing. They could fight for hours then be curled up together on the couch. Their fighting only led to them loving each other more.

Gray's dark eyes shifted from the ground to the brick wall. The wall that held so many memories for the boy as did the abandoned building. Since first grade, Gray and his friends always found one day before school started to come to this building. It didn't matter how old they got, they always came back. It scared Gray a little to think that this time next year, they'd be gone. No one would come back to this building anymore. The male stood from the couch and walked over to the wall. He pulled out the brick then the box and walked back over to the couch. He began to pick through the little notes, setting each of the ones with a little "G" written on the outside on the table.

"One for every year since first grade," Gray concluded, picking up the first one.

"Kick Erza out of the club because she's a girl."

Gray laughed at his first grade self. He didn't want to get cooties, of course. Gray placed the paper on the table, lining it up so it went in chronological order. He continued grabbing the papers, reading each aloud.

"Get Dad to buy me a dog."

"Beat up Natsu."

"Beat up Natsu again 'cuz it was fun."

"Bring my mom back and make dad happy again."

Gray sighed at the one he wrote in fifth grade. It was obviously not a possible goal. It wasn't something anyone could do for him or in general. No one could bring his mother back from the dead, no matter how much he or his father missed her.

"Ask out Erza."

Gray shook his head with a smile, remembering when he had been so in love with Erza.

"Help Natsu beat up that stupid kid who makes fun of him."

"Hurt the people who make fun of Erza and make her cry."

"Get Natsu and Lucy together."

"Ask dad about going to see mom's grave."

It hurt Gray to remember that year. It was too hard to really even reminisce. That's the year all the faded scars began to cover his arms. His father didn't want to go see his mother's grave, but Gray couldn't even ask him to go. He achieved his goal that year.

"Find a girlfriend."

"Find a girlfriend, again."

The notes ended. At least, the beginning of the year ones did, but two were left with a "G" on them. He picked up the first one, written by him which he read aloud, "End the year with all of my friends."

He then picked up the other one which was much more well written in Juvia's distinguished handwriting.

"End up with Gray Fullbuster as my husband in the next few years."

Gray starred at the paper for a few moments before fulling comprehending what it said. It was about him. Her goal was about him. Maybe to other people, such a thing wouldn't be a big deal. But to Gray it meant so much. These goals were incredibly special to him, the only things that can get him through the days.

Her goal was about him.

Gray scooped up all the small pieces of paper on the table and threw them into the box. He bolted toward the door until the sound of his phone stopped him.

"Hello?"

"G-Gray? I-I really need you. Please."

"Give me ten minutes. I'll be there."

Author's Note: To everyone who was requesting, here is the next chapter. I really hope you all enjoyed it. It makes me a little sad that we're coming to the end of our story. My guess is that there will be 2-5 more chapters until this book is over. But who knows? Maybe I'll make a sequel? Or start a brand new story that you all can check out? Maybe both? I guess you'll all have to wait and see! Please leave me a like and comment telling me how you felt! I love you! I hope all your Valentine's Days were great!
