"Here."
Gray turned his head, looking at the red-head standing next to him. She held a folded piece of paper in her hand and was holding it out to him.
"What's this?" Gray asked, taking the paper into his hand. He unfolded the paper, looking over the inside. "Another party?"
"Of course! It's our senior year!" Erza said, clutching her books to her chest. A smile remained on her face, but her eyes looked sad.
"Are you okay?" Gray asked, tucking the invitation in his locker before closing it.
Erza nodded, but Gray knew better. She was sad about something.
"Erza? Talk to me," Gray said, cocking his head to the side.
Erza licked her bottom lip, then bit it.
"Gray," she began. Her voice had been reduced to a whisper, and her eyes seemed glassy with tears. "I think I'm pregnant."
Gray's eyes grew large, then he quickly shook his head. "Are you sure? Have you taken a test?"
Erza shook her head as the bell rang. "That's the bell. We have to go." Erza began walking away, but Gray grabbed her arm, yanking her back.
"We're figuring this out now. Class can wait," Gray said, dragging her along. "Let's go get a test. I'm pretty sure they only cost like five dollars at the drugstore."
Erza looked up at Gray, silent tears falling down her face.
"Gray, I'm scared. What if Jellal gets mad and breaks up with me? I can't let that happen, Gray!" Erza said, more tears falling as they were walking on the sidewalk down the street.
Gray didn't reply, just kept a hold of Erza's hand. He picked up the pace, the drugstore in sight.
"Gray. really! I can't raise a baby by myself. I don't have a mom or a dad to help me! I don't know what to do!" Erza snapped, pulling her hand out of Gray's and covering her face. It was obvious she was embarrassed to be crying in public but also afraid and embarrassed of the possibility of being pregnant at seventeen.
Gray didn't know what to say. He had gone through everything with Erza. The first time she had gotten her period, the first fight with Jellal, everything. But nothing like this.
He wrapped his arms around Erza as various people passed by them. Seeing her cry hurt him more than imagined.
"Hey, we're gonna get through this," Gray said, bending down so he was now eye-level with Erza. "Jellal loves you. He won't stop loving you if you're carrying his baby. Even without a mom or dad, I know you'll be an amazing mother, Erza. You have all of your friends, and we all know that your baby will be the most amazing kid ever. So please, stop crying."
Erza looking at up Gray and quickly wiped her eyes, nodding quickly.
Gray stood up straight, taking her hand again and leading the rest of the way to the drugstore.
They entered the slightly-rundown store, Erza looking around to make sure she knew no one there. The store was empty besides the man behind the counter, a very familiar man.
"Gray Fullbuster? Erza Scarlet? Is that you two?"
Gray sighed before putting on a fake smirk and looking at the man. "Gajeel, is that you?"
Gajeel walked from behind the counter, draping an arm around Gray's shoulder.
"Why aren't you two shitheads in school?"
Gray rolled his eyes, keeping the smirk on his face as he said, "I could ask you the same thing."
Gajeel laughed before walking over to a very quiet Erza.
"And you, Scarlet. I never thought I'd see Miss Princess skipping," Gajeel said, his red eyes looking the red head over.
Erza gave him a smile before saying, "Had some things to do. I can miss a day."
Gajeel laughed before disappearing in the office behind the counter. "Do as you please. Tell me when you need rang up," he called out.
Gray began searching the shelves, finding several different pregnancy tests. He walked back, finding Erza by the bathroom.
Erza looked at him as if he was crazy before saying, "Aren't we going to pay?"
Gray sighed before handing the tests to her.
"You want Gajeel to know before Jellal?"
Erza sighed before disappearing into the bathroom, the defiant sound of a lock making Gray finally breath a bit.
Suddenly, Gray felt his phone buzzing in his pocket. He smiled at the caller ID, immediately picking up.
"Hello?"
"Gray? Hey, it's Juvia."
The smile could be heard in her voice. Gray smiled at the sound, looking down at his feet.
"Hello Juvia. Shouldn't you be in class?"
"I could ask you the same thing. Where are you?"
"Erza had something she had to do, and she asked me to come with her. I can't explain right now, but I will later. Wanna hang at my house later?"
The smile on her face was heard by the silence.
"I'd love to!"
"I'll pick you up at your house at like six, okay?"
"Sounds good. Hopefully everything's okay with Erza."
"Hopefully. Bye Juvia."
"Bye Gray. Be good."
With a small giggle, she hung up the phone, leaving Gray chuckling as he put the phone back in his pocket.
Several minutes later, Erza peeked her head out and motioned Gray to come in the bathroom.
Gray followed her commands, closing and locking the door behind him. Luckily, the bathroom was for both genders, so it wouldn't look as weird.
Erza stood against the wall, the tears obviously on their way.
Gray looked at the various tests sitting on the edge of the sink. Each and every one showed positive.
Gray looked at Erza, worry in his eyes.
"Gray, I'm pregnant. I'm going to have a baby," Erza whispered, sitting on the bathroom floor. The tears fell down Erza's face, smearing her make-up. She looked desperate for help, for a hug.
Gray sat down beside her, pulling her close to him. He didn't know what else to do or say.
"Come on, Erza. We'll go get some cake and ice cream. We don't have to go back to school," Gray said, smiling down at her, trying to brighten the situation.
Erza smiled sadly and stood up, pulling Gray up with her. "Okay," she said, before leading the way out of the bathroom, Gray right behind her.
Gajeel remained in the back room, not paying attention to the teenagers as they exited the store.
〈・・・・・・〉
Gray honked the horn as he reached Juvia's apartment. The blue-haired beauty raced down, opening the door with a large smile on her face.
"Hey, Hot Stuff," Juvia said with a small smirk and a wink.
Gray rolled his eyes with a smile, setting the car in drive and setting out. "Alright, where we going?"
"Well," Juvia began, setting her elbows on the center council, "I'd like you to tell me why you weren't at school today."
Gray sighed, keeping one hand on the wheel while the other went through his dark hair.
"It's Erza. She's in a bit of a pickle."
Juvia raised an eyebrow before saying, "What do you mean?"
"Erza's pregnant."
The bluenette looked at Gray, her blues eyes large. Her hung open, and she seemed to be in shock.
"I know, crazy right?" Gray said, sighing. He had returned both his hands to the wheel, making a left turn.
Juvia finally shook her head, snapping her out of the trance. She looked over at Gray, his eyes still on the road.
"Where are we going?" She asked, turning toward the front of the car herself. She looked out the window, watching the yellow lines as they disappeared under the car and behind them.
Gray shrugged before saying, "Crazy."
Juvia felt herself smile. She looked over and took Gray's cold hand in her own pale one, squeezing it. She rested her head on his shoulder as together they watched the lines disappear under the car and behind them.
