If I look around,
I see sad souls, drinking
to fill the void.
I see how secrets get spread
and are no longer sacred.
I see starving people
along every corner
begging for scraps of food.
I see the way teenagers
hide who they want to
be.
I see the regret in people's
eyes, once they have
spat harsh words out in
anger and pain.
I see the way kindnessis abused and is not
practiced.
I see how quickly love
diminishes in relationships.
We need to make a change.
The world needs to see
the light again.
It starts with us.
