"Sir, your meeting will start within 5 minutes, all the documents you need is already there. Also, the whole accounting department is present except for their AWOL General accountant"", Leilani, my secretary informed me.
"Okay, do they know why I call for an urgent meeting with them?" I ask her.
"No Sir, but I think they have an idea".
"Okay, have you called Bai Accounting firm? Did you inform them of my concern?"
"Yes Sir, you will meet their representative at 4PM".
"Thanks Leilani. Let's go to the boardroom then".
I stride my way to the boardroom. This meeting was urgently called for a reason- a very big one. My multi-billion company, The MG Empire, was under ruckus because my head accountant, was on AWOL, running away with millions of my money. That is actually not a problem for me, for I have other companies who also earns million. My main point is, I lost my trust to that certain person.
Trust made me build my empire now. That is my most sacred value. If you ruined my trust, I can be your worst nightmare. Especially in business world, I'm confident enough t say that I don't have friends, just business partners. Because that how it works.
I made my grand entrance as I wide open the door to the boardroom. All eyes automatically landed on me. I smirk. I know that look. I know that they started to feel axnxious and worried. That is right, feel that. Because one wrong answer from you, you're fired. Sorry not Sorry.
"Good afternoon everyone, i don't want to waste either my time or your time, how about you tell me, how did he managed to get away with the money?" , I directly ask. All of them looked at each other then land their eyes on the assitant general accountant, that is now sweating cold bullets.
"S-sir, I-i, a-actually-y don't have an i-idea on how he d-did t-that, all i know is that he ask me to preapare d-documents f-for our on-going construction of the MG branch in Phuket."
"And how did he get those cheques signed by me?"
" i t-think, he tampered your signature, S-sir", one of the accounting staff informed.
"I heared enough, for now, I want you to return to all your positions and wait for further announcement. Thank you. You may leave", i said dismissively. I suddenly feel tired. All of those meetings plus this issue, i crave to go home and lie in bed. I was about to doze off when my secretary knocked, informing me that my next appointment is here.
Groaning, i answer "give me a minute, I'll just fix myself". After that, i ask her to let my appointment in. I was browsing the submitted documents by the accounting department when i heard a soft voice saying
"Good afternoon, I am Gulf Marcus Kanawut, representative from Bai Accounting Firm, it's nice to meet you, Sir."
