Fog appeared from my mouth as I breathed into the bitter Winter air. Darkness still filled the sky, the once early Summer morning sun now hidden away. The birds were silent. Everything was silent; except for the icy water which trickled quickly down the stream, dragonflies hovering above. I pulled my thick jacket around me, the cold beginning to penetrate through my many layers of clothing. I tuck my long curly brown hair into the hood and kept walking through the Woods, my eyes drooping; just another normal Winter morning walking to the stables in Gloustester right?
Eventually I reach the edge of the Woods; stables where my horse waits are in the distance, a field painted white with frost in front of me. Frost and leaves crackle under my tread, my riding boots leaving footprints over the vast field. No horses are in sight, and no wonder; it was freezing! I clasp my hands to my mouth and blow warm air into them; quickly dispersing into the cold. Im thankful to reach the stables, eager to get into the warmth of my horse's pen. No-one was here. Great, another morning alone! I grab hay and other essentials from the supply cupboard and enter my horses pen, the sun's rays beginning to poke through the clouds, lighting up the pen.
'Come here Coral' She neighs as I address her, handing her the hay. I brush her long mane and stand by her for a few minutes. Luckily she was warm; I was frozen! I hated the Winter! As I began to sit on a nearby stool, I heard a voice from outside, making me jump. I listen harder, not making myself noticeable at first. It was a boys voice, I knew that. But he was singing, not talking; he had such a beautiful voice. I crept closer to the door of the pen, watching where I stepped. He was singing Love Story by Taylor Swift; where had I heard it before? I let myself be taken away by the song; ignoring my horse and other surroundings. Finishing the song, he began humming the chorus again. I let out a giggle which I immediately regretted; he had stopped humming. He must of heard me. Panicking, I ran back to the stool, sitting down quickly.
'Is anyone there?' He shouted, pushing open the pen door. As he walked through the door, he pulled off his riding hat, revealing his face. Our eyes met and for a moment I was captivated by the hazel/brown eyes that sparkled in the rising Sun's rays; they stood out like sequins against his olive skin. His jet black hair lay flat on his head, strands falling down towards his forehead. A smile broke out across his face and he looked down at the floor. Wait. I had seen him before; that face, I knew it from somewhere.
No. It could'nt be...
'Sorry for my singing, I'm JJ, my horse has just been moved to these stables.' He grinned as he held his riding hat under his arm.
JJ. It was JJ from Union J, from the X Factor. They had come 4th but you could tell they would be successful. I couldnt believe it; he was here at a beat up old stable. I cleared my throat.
'You're JJ, JJ from the X Factor!' I exclaimed. He laughed, looking at the ground again.
'Yeah, I get that a lot now!' He said smiling.
'Well why are you here, of all places?'
He adjusted the grip on his helmet as he thought of what to say.
'Take me on a tour of this whole place and I'll tell you!' He said cheekily. Giggling, I stood up untucking my hair from my hood, letting it flow naturally down my back. JJ Hamblett was here, of all people. I could'nt believe my luck. If his horse had been moved here, maybe he would come here a lot. I resisted from screaming in excitement as we exited the pen. I mean, it was just a member of Union J right?
