[15] Reunion

2 years 6 months later

It's been more than two years since YuXin left for America without a word.

Zhengting and Xue Er had become a couple during their time in school, shocking most of the people who thought Xue Er was a couple with YuXin. Rumour has it that Xue Er was heartbroken by YuXin's sudden departure and seek solace in Zhengting resulting in them being together. However, the lovebirds did come together because of YuXin's matchmaking and Zhengting was eternally grateful for it.

Kun on the other hand remained cold and aloof mostly, but was able to converse with others when needed. When YuXin left, he pretty much went back to his own reclusive self, not opening up to anyone else in the class. Without her by his side, it felt like there was a tear in his heart. A sense of discomfort like life was just not right without YuXin's voice accompanying him, disturbing him with her cheeky remarks. Even though he didn't show it, he truly missed her.

He steered clear of all the girls as much as possible, ignoring their advances. In his heart, there's only enough space for YuXin and YuXin only. Not a day goes by without him thinking about her. The mark that she'd left in his life was something that could not be replaced. He tried to locate her with his connections but it was a futile effort. Still, kept on trying, believing that he will find her eventually.

It was the first day of college. Zhengting, Kun and Xue Er had all enrolled into the same college, though Xue Er was studying a different specialisation in humanities while the other two were studying business. As it was in any school, Kun's reputation was spread in the college and some girls were staring at him and muttering amongst themselves when he walked past them.

After their first class, Kun and Zhengting went to the cafeteria for lunch while waiting for Xue Er. As they passed by the garden, Kun spotted a short hair petite figure liken to that of YuXin and immediately ran towards her, trying to get a closer look. As he turned to the garden, the figure had vanished from his sight.

Zhengting caught up with Kun and placed his hand on his shoulder, "what's wrong Kun? You saw someone?"

Kun shook his head. I must be thinking of her so much I'm hallucinating.

Kun stared at his plate of lunch absentmindedly, thinking about the incident earlier on. Was he hallucinating or did he really notice a figure that looked like YuXin..

" Kun.. Kun!" Xue Er shouted, trying to get Kun's attention.

"I've got a friend to join us in a while, make some space for her," Xue Er smiled widely as Kun scooted over to the side of the bench, making some space for Xue Er's friend.

"Ah, she's here!!" Xue Er beamed excitedly, waving her hand to get the friend's attention. Kun however, was not interested in her friend and concentrated on his food while thinking about YuXin.

"Hello, I hope I'm not intruding," The familiar voice rang behind Kun and his head immediately shot up. He turned and saw YuXin standing in front of him. The girl that he's been thinking about for the past two years six months, the girl who stole his heart and disappeared all of a sudden appearing in flesh right in front of him. Kun walked towards YuXin as the latter smiled, "Hello Kun Kun, you look more handsome than before you must have ch-"

This can't be real, he thought. Kun wrapped his arm around YuXin's waist and pulled her in, embracing her tightly.  The familiar way she called him Kun Kun made his heart thumped, slowly melting the cold stone heart and wall that he had built against others with her warmth. She's really back, she's here.

YuXin let out a laugh and pat Kun's back gently, "There there, you missed my annoying antics so much huh."

Kun mumbled softly, "I like you."
