[22] Confession

"Meimei, since when did you get together with the ice prince?" Jiaer asked with a cheeky grin as he slung his arm around YuXin's shoulder.

YuXin ignored Jiaer's question and sipped on her milk tea with a contented look, enjoying her favourite beverage. Seeing how YuXin was ignoring him, Jiaer grabbed the cup away from her, causing YuXin to frown as she tried to grab it back.

Jiaer, "Answer my question then you can have it back."

YuXin glanced at Yibo with a sad pout and he sighed, elbowing Jiaer and snatched the drink away from him, returning it back to YuXin. Why am I acting as a mom here?

YuXin, "Thanks brother."

She stuck her tongue out at Jiaer, "I'm not together with Kun Kun."

Jiaer, "Ah? But he acted so affectionately towards you. Even a blind person could also tell he's got feelings towards you."

YuXin paused for a moment with a troubled look before regaining her composure and replying, "But we agreed to just be friends, nothing more."

Jiaer looked at Yibo who gave him a knowing look. The both of them knew the reason behind YuXin's refusal for accepting Kun's feelings. Ruffling YuXin's hair, Jiaer said,"Meimei, you deserved happiness too. Don't regret when some girl confess to him and snatch him away from you."

Jiaer's words made YuXin pondered about the idea of Kun having a girlfriend as she stared at Kun who was sitting beside her on his couch while patting Xiaoyu. Would I regret it? But it's not like we are together.. Why would I regret it.

YuXin mumbled softly trying to convince herself,"I'm totally okay if Kun Kun gets a girlfriend."

Kun's ear perked up hearing YuXin mumbling to herself and turned to face her with a frown, "What are you talking about?"

YuXin was startled by Kun's sudden question. She didn't thought that he would catch her mumbling to herself and replied sheepishly, "Ah.. I was just talking to myself..."

Kun raised his brows slightly, "You want to be my girlfriend?"

YuXin sighed softly and collected herself, willing herself to stop blushing, "I mean someone other than me. You know you have so many beautiful girls surrounding you.. You can take your pick." She did not even dare to think about the possibility of being together with Kun, it was too farfetched in her head for that to even happen.

Kun looked at her intensely and said in a serious tone, "You are the only one."

YuXin waved him off and stood up, trying to make light of the situation, "Yah.. Stop joking.. I am going to get a cup of water." She walked off to the kitchen and opened the fridge to pour herself a cup of iced water to cool the heat rising from within.

Kun followed and stood behind her, fixing his gaze on YuXin, "I am serious."

"Kun Kun.. You know that we can't.. I can't.. I'd rather you choose another girl whom you can spend the rest of your life with rather than me." YuXin muttered softly as she turned around to walk away. Kun pulled YuXin back and took a step nearer to her, resting both his hands on the counter top trapping YuXin in between his arms with his eyes gazing at YuXin deeply, "I only want you. I'd choose a limited number of days with you than a forever with anyone else."

YuXin looked down and bit her lips, trying to stop herself from tearing up from Kun's heartfelt confession. She'd be lying to herself if she said she didn't have any feelings for Kun, she was simply too afraid to let anyone in to her world and let them get hurt because of her. "But.. What if I get sick again?"
