[9] Trouble

"Kun!" Xiao Ning shouted as she saw Kun with a puppy sniffing around curiously. Running towards Kun, she smiled and panted slightly, pulling on the leash of her dog that was following closely behind. "What a coincidence!"

Kun nodded his head briefly and walked off with Xiaoyu leaping off happily towards the grass field, disturbing the flock of birds that were resting curiously. The puppy was sniffing the birds out excitedly, causing them to fly off in panic as Xiaoyu dived straight into the flock of birds.

Kun, "Xiaoyu."

The puppy turned his head towards Kun, running towards his owner hearing his name, panting with his pinkish tongue hanging out. Kun bent down and pulled out a small container with water and Xiaoyu lapped on it thirstily. Xiaoyu looked comical with feathers from the birds stuck on its fur and Kun picked them out meticulously.

Xiao Ning, "Kun, the puppy's name is Xiaoyu? How cute."

She bend down and attempted to pat Xiaoyu but stopped short when she saw Kun staring at her coldly, as if warning her not to touch his dog.

Xiao Ning smiled awkwardly, "He's really cute and precious.. You must liked it a lot."

Kun, "Mmn."

Kun kept the container and was about to continue with his walk when Xiao Ning's dog growled menacingly at the puppy, baring it's teeth and barking loudly at Xiaoyu.

Xiaoyu who was either a daredevil or a silly puppy with no situational awareness began wagging its tail and approaching Xiao Ning's dog curiously and the dog snapped at Xiaoyu, nipping its paw angrily before Kun could pull Xiaoyu away.

Kun picked up Xiaoyu who was whining in pain, holding up its paw to see blood trickling down. Kun who has never shown any sort of exaggerated expression had a nasty frown on his face. He glared coldly at Xiao Ning and her dog, feeling the rage within him rising and stride away.

Xiao Ning, "Kun.. I'm sorry.."

She apologised but Kun was already far gone. Glaring at her dog, she threw the leash down and pouted with a sad glum on her face.

Kun sat down beside YuXin and looked at the girl who was resting her head on the table briefly before breaking the news.

Kun, "Xiaoyu is injured."

YuXin, "What!"

She jumped up and opened her eyes in shock, "What happened??"

Kun, "He got nipped on the paw by Xiao Ning's dog but he's okay."

YuXin sighed loudly and her face crumpled with a sad frown, "My poor little baby.. Kun Kun, Can I go to your house to see Xiaoyu later? "

Kun stared at YuXin briefly, opening his mouth as if he wants to speak but closed it shortly and nodded.

After school, YuXin followed Kun out of the class and Zhengting raised his brows curiously.

YuXin looked at Zhengting and said as a matter of factly,"I'm following Kun Kun home today."

Zhengting darted his eyes between the two and nodded without breathing a word, smiling to himself as he looked at the two walking to the car. This is indeed something new. Zhengting could not recall when was the last time Kun invited someone over to his house. He had only visited Kun's House less than five times in their entire friendship.

Kun and YuXin alighted in front of Kun's apartment building. Scanning his key card, the glass door leading to the lobby opened. YuXin looked around the posh minimalist lobby and jumped up in surprise when the security guard greeted Kun, pressing the lift button for them.
