[6] Valentines

Valentines day was round the corner and YuXin was especially excited for this day to arrive, not because she would be receiving gifts but rather, because of the mountain of snacks her brother would receive without a doubt. Every year, Yibo would lug back bags of chocolates ranging from homemade to expensive premium store bought ones and YuXin took on the responsibility of helping her brother finish them off.

YuXin, "Brother, could you request for chips for valentines day too? I really want to have chips as well."

Yibo smacked YuXin's head lightly, "You think I'm making special requests for valentines day gift? What do you take me for? Eat your potato salad and be happy."

Yibo placed a huge bowl of potato salad that he had just made in front of YuXin and the latter eyes lit up in delight as she dug in happily, savoring each bite of her favourite food."You are really obsess with potato," Yibo ruffled YuXin's hair and smiled at her affectionately, happy that his sister was enjoying his food.

On Valentines day, YuXin was surprised to spot a few boxes of chocolate placed in her locker. Looking around she wondered if they had accidentally placed it wrongly but after seeing the contents of the letters written, she realised they were indeed for her. Some girls written out their feelings saying that they admire YuXin and even confessed to liking her a lot. YuXin didn't know if she was to laugh or feel embarrassed at the sudden confession but she kept the chocolate and letters.

When she stepped into class, she noticed a mini mountain of chocolate on Kun's desk and shook her head in disbelief. That is the power of ice prince..

At the other end of the class, Zhengting too, had a pile of chocolates on his desks waiting for him. When the two of them entered the class, Zhengting had a smiley expression as usual but Kun's face was especially dark and solemn. He hates valentine's day. It was the day where girls would flood his locker with chocolates and gifts that he does not appreciate. Seeing the mountain of chocolate on his desk, he sighed loudly and was about to swiped them off his desks when YuXin held his hand and stopped him.

YuXin, "Kun Kun, these are precious gifts from the girls, you can't just throw them away."

Kun, "I didn't asked them to buy it."

YuXin, "But still, if I'm the girl who prepared the gift I would be heartbroken. At least keep them and eat them slowly. If not, you can also donate it to orphanages too."

Without waiting for Kun to reply, YuXin spotted a big bag and started placing all the gifts into the bag and placed it beside Kun's desk. Kun stared at YuXin wanting to speak up but stop midway and allowed her to do whatever she deemed fit.

Perhaps due to his icy cold nature, none of the girls dared approach Kun and pass their gifts to him personally, they either left it on his table during break or placed it in his locker. At the end of school, Kun's locker was stuffed full with gifts as well and YuXin helped him to empty all of them into another big bag she has procured earlier. Smiling, YuXin handed the bag over to Kun and said, "There Mr Popular, you can now enjoy the endless supply of snacks or donate it."

She reached out into her bag and handed Kun the usual mini chocolate bar, "Happy valentine's day Kun Kun." Kun looked at the chocolate bar for a moment before reaching out to take it, nodding as a sign of thanks. He put it in the pocket of his jacket and walked off with two big bags of gifts in his hands.

Zhengting noticed the two big bags and stammered in surprise, "Kun.. This is.." this was the first time Zhengting has seen Kun bringing back gifts from girls during valentines day.

"Donate them to the orphanage." Kun said, handing over the bags to the chauffeur. He sat at the back of the car and reached out to his pocket, taking out the mini chocolate bar from his pocket and smiled slightly before savoring the familiar taste of the chocolate.
