The next few weeks went by pretty smoothly. Luckily, Rita seems to have a week or so between each monster attack, so that's nice. Last week the others and I were going on a little trip while Jason hung out with his little cousin. They found this mirror and Rita attacked and blah blah blah, you get the gist of it. Things were pretty normal for angel grove! Things were good, for most people at least. I still wasn't sleeping and it was becoming a bit of a problem, the bags under my eyes were proof enough. With not sleeping, I've lost most of my appetite as well, being too tired to be hungry. My skin got very pale from this, and my energy decreased even more. I started to look sick. But I just put on makeup, putting on a happy smile and using energy drinks or coffee to get through the day. It had been almost three weeks since the island, my sleep getting worse as the days go by and I had fallen into a routine.
7:00- stop staring at the ceiling and have a cup of coffee
7:15- pick out an outfit for the day
7:20- cold shower, to try and wake myself up more
7:30- get dressed and pack my school bag
7:45- clean my room and have another cup of coffee
7:50- get in my truck and get an iced coffee before going to school
8:00- get to class
I usually chew on ice throughout class to stay awake, it's surprisingly effective. Anyways, it was now lunch and I was headed to my locker. I put my things away when I closed my locker, only to jump at Tommy standing right behind the door.
"Damnit Tommy." I cursed, a hand on my heart. "Don't sneak up on my like that!" I scolded, swatting his arm lightly.
"Woah, hey, sorry. I didn't mean to startle you." He apologized. He looked at me for a moment, a concerned look on his face. He looked me up and down, taking notice of my fuzzy purple and white clothes.
"Are you okay?" He asked me, concern evident in his voice. "You don't seem like yourself." He said, tucking a piece of my hair out of my face. I smiled at him and nodded.
"I'm just tired." I said, wrapping my arms around his waist. "I didn't get much sleep last night." I said. Tommy sighed and hugged me, rubbing my back making me sigh contently.
"You seem more then 'just tired'. What's going on?" He asked me gently. I looked at him and pulled away from his warm arms. If I stayed like that I'd fall asleep, I'd rather not deal with the nightmares right now.
"I'm fine, Tommy. I've just been having a little trouble sleeping for a few days." I told him, wanting to drop the subject. "It's nothing." I said, my irritation getting worse. I looked in my bag for my wallet, groaning when I realized it was still in my locker.
"It's not nothing." Tommy insisted as I opened my locker again. "You've been different the past few weeks. I just want to know what's wrong so I can help." He pleaded. I stuffed my wallet in my bag and slammed my locker closed.
"I'm. Fine." I growled, my voice raised slightly. "Nothings wrong. I don't need your help. End of conversation." I said, storming away from a shocked and hurt Tommy.
I felt bad but, it was better this way. He shouldn't have to deal with my issues. I walked to the girls bathroom and leaned on one of the sinks, my head down as I took some deep breaths. It was only moments later when the door opened, Trini and Kimberly walking through the door. I looked at them and straightened up.
