"So, you didn't really tell us all that much." Tommy started, unsure how to ask me to continue talking about my life story about being a demigod.
"Well, when I was born and after my mom left, my dad married my other dad -yes, I had two dad's, I don't care- and they had my two younger siblings together when I was 4. At that point I was starting to get my abilities and it turned out that they were a lot more powerful then anyone expected. Zeus demanded I be trained once my powers started to develop, he didn't want my powers getting out of control. It first started with simple things like extreme intelligence or some Telekinesis every so often. If I was near an outlet, then sometimes lines of electricity would shoot out and gather in my hand. Then, I unlocked a power I couldn't control. I could manipulate fear and shadows. Sometimes I could even talk to the dead if I tried hard enough, but I couldn't control it." I took a deep breath, admitting this to them seemed to be harder then I expected. I took a minute to focus on the road to calm my emotions, letting the boys process what I said.
"What happened when that power got out of control?" Jason asked in a weary tone which I don't blame him for. I glanced at him through the rear view mirror before continuing.
"When that power would become too much for me to handle, I would send out waves of power, killing or burning anything within about a 20-30 feet radius. Sometimes I was able to contain it somewhat, and it would only go about 2 feet but it was still terrifying to see. I would also hear screaming and yelling in my head, and see creatures around me staring at me. I would get so scared that I usually would pass out from fear, sometimes my heart would even stop. My other abilities all have less destructive outcomes if I lose control, but I'm able to handle most of them very well. When I was younger, the only person who could actually help was my father. He would try to calm me down, give me something to ground myself to and help me remember that I wasn't alone. After 3 years of this happening I got better at controlling my abilities and I gained a lot more. But I only use my powers if necessary or I'm at camp." I told them as I pulled into the youth center parking lot, parking the truck.
"And yesterday on the island, Rita's spell made you have an, episode?" Tommy asked me hesitantly making my shrug my shoulders.
"She didn't exactly make me have an episode it was more like, she made me hallucinate that I was having one which freaked me out so much that I lost control. She didn't have the power to make me lose control directly, but the hallucinations were like a trigger for an episode." I explained as I got one of the baskets from the back, heading to the entrance with Tommy and Jason following, each of them holding a basket.
"Hey Ernie! I'm here with the berries!" I said as I walked up to the juice bar. Ernie came out from the back and smiled at the three of us.
"Hello you three, and thanks Fox but you really didn't have to do this. I could have gone out and bought some." He said before his eyes widened at the 3 big baskets the boys and I sat on the counter.
"Yea, well, you probably wouldn't be able to get this many berries for a decent price, so it works out better this way." I said to him with a smile as I leaned my elbows on the counter in front of me.
"Well that's for sure! I really appreciate this Fox." He said with a sweet smile as I nodded and smile, then walked off with the others.
"So, are we going to go pick up the others now?" I asked the two complimentary colored boys as I walked backwards to look at them, my thick heeled boots clicking against the ground. The two looked at each other before Tommy shrugged.
"The others were busy today, so we all decided that you could explain it to Tommy and I first since you seem the most comfortable around us. Then you can just tell the others the most important parts. That way at least some of us know most of the story so we aren't completely in the dark." Jason explained making me nod. I get that and I am the most comfortable around them, so it makes sense.
"That's probably a good idea. Even though I'm friends with the others too, I just don't feel comfortable enough to tell everyone everything. I appreciate only having to tell you two the whole story." I said with a small smile at them before stopping and hugging the two boys, I stepped away after a few seconds and lightly skipped to the truck when I noticed something on the ground. I stopped and bent down to pick up a shiny violet stone that looked like a dark but bright amethyst.
"Strange, how did this end up here?" I mumbles as I stood up, holding the gem between my fingers as I looked at it curiously. Tommy looked at it in confusion before looking at Jason.
"I don't remember amethyst being around angel grove at all, do you?" Tommy asked Jason who looked just as confused before shaking his head no.
"There's never been any crystal mines around here, only gold mines." He said while looking at the gem in my hand.
"Well, I'll hold on to it and see what I can find. I just find it strange that it was out in the open here." I said as I put the gem in my messenger bag, the boys nodded and we continued on walking to my truck.
"So, where was I with my story?" I pondered for a minute as I started my truck. The boys thought back to our conversation before we walked into the youth center.
"You started getting control of your powers?" Jason asked making me remember where I left off.
"Oh! Yeah, after about 3 years I gained control of my abilities and I was unlocking a lot of new powers. So, during those 3 years my dad decided that I would need training to help control my abilities better so I could go to a normal high school and I wouldn't have to be home schooled my whole life. Although, I have the knowledge to be able to graduate at anytime but I don't see any fun in that and, if I stay in school then I can help other students with their work. When I was 8 I went to a place called camp halfblood for the summer, I learned more about what I was and how to live with it since being a half blood comes with its ups and downs. For instance, I have cool abilities but there are some down sides. Such as, monsters will be attracted to my blood at all times so no matter where I am, monsters like cyclopes, hell hounds and minotaur's will try to hunt down and kill me at any given chance." I said casually with a shrug as I started driving home while the boys gapped at my words.
"I'm sorry but this all seems to hard to believe. Gods and goddesses? Cyclopes and minotaur's? It's just hard to wrap my head around." Jason said as he tried to process the information properly while rubbing his temples, I sighed and was silent for a few minutes to let all the information sink in before speaking again.
"Unfortunately, it's true, I can even show you when we get to my house but for right now, your just gonna have to believe me." I told them as I made a right onto my street before something jumped in the bed of my truck.
