Adrien POV

I lift the fencing mask from my face as Kagami does the same. She recalls the last strike she made to break the tie and win. I've been distracted, and she knows it. When we're in the locker room, Kagami presses on about how I wasn't at my best today.

"You were predictable, Adrien. What's on your mind?" she asks.

I shrug off her question and continue to put away our fencing gear. "It's nothing, thanks for asking. I'll just pay more attention next time."

Kagami narrows her eyes at me. "I don't like excuses. And frankly, that was a terrible excuse," she says coldly.

I sigh, and she gently takes my hand and pulls me toward the locker room benches. When we sit down, she says nothing, waiting for me to talk. She's not leaving without an answer.

"Kagami? Let's say, you ever felt guilty about something, and you wanted nothing more than to make it right with that person? But...you just can't..." I hesitate before taking again. I don't know if I should tell her this.

"What would you do?" I finally ask.

She raises an eyebrow at me. "If there is definitely nothing you can do, then you have to live with the fact.

You can't control everything in life, Adrien, but there are a still some things that you can. So, pay more attention to the things that you can."

Kagami then takes my hand in hers.  She squeezes it and continues talking as her words echo in my mind.

"However if there is something you can do, you should at least try. You can't sit back and expect everything to change, you're feeling guilty for a reason. You're the only one who knows the reason."

The blue-haired girl then reaches under the bench, and pulls out what looks like a journal.

"Whoever this person is, you obviously care if you're willing to open up to me this much," she says, her hand sliding back and forth on the cover.

"I hope things go well for you." She moves so that she's close enought to plant a kiss on my cheek. "And I hope my advice was enough for you. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"

She stands up and waves goodbye as she heads out, leaving me with my decisions. As soon as she's gone from owe, Plagg flies through the locker door.

"Plagg be careful! She could've seen you if she was still here," I remind him.

My kwami just yawns. "I'm more careful than you think. Do I need to remind you that I've been around since the dinosaurs? No need to ridicule me just because of that girlfriend of yours," he says in a bored tone.

His response catches me by surprise. "She's not my girlfriend Plagg," I say quickly, though I can already tell I'm turning red.

Plagg just rolls his eyes at this. "If she's not your girlfriend, why do you let her kiss you? Also, why did you give her that rose? She obviously likes you, or at least being around you."

My eyes widen at this, because the thought never crossed my mind. I...i like Kagami. But, how much? We do like spending time with each other, but I don't want to be messing with her feelings. She doesn't deserve that.

I'm about to respond to what Plagg said when the door opens and welcomes the sound of someone's humming. It stops when a voice asks, "Hey, are you two done in here?"

I turn to see the owner of the voice is non other than Alice. She stops humming and smiles playfully, taking her hands out of her pockets.

Walking over to sit next to me, she asks,"So, who was that girl you were fencing with?" she asks.

"Oh her?" Plagg interrupts,"That was Kagami, and Adrien here is sooo deep in thought about how much he loooves her."

"Plagg shut it!" I tell him, rubbing the back of my neck in embarrassment.

Alice bites her lip to hold back her laughter. "As much as I'd love to talk about lovey-dovey stuff, I need to tell you something," she says.

"Turns out that Ladybug forgot to tell me something." Alice rolls her eyes at this, but continues.

"Somethings up with my necklace Adrien. She didn't tell me what was wrong with it, she just said that it would be dangerous if I kept using it.

I feel like I should take it back from you, but I still haven't found out how my sister knows. It's confusing. All of this so confusing and I'm just going with it."

She turns away when she finishes. I put a hand on her shoulder to reassure her.

"You can't control your powers from what I've seen, But you can't learn how to control them if their too dangerous for you," I say. "You trusted me, Alice. I trust you. We both need to figure out how to make this work."

Alice looks at me, her fists clench and she grabs her leggings tightly. But then her look softens, and I can practically see the gears turning in her head.

"Okay...this is fine. First, I need to learn how Lila found out about my necklace. I shouldn't keep it for now.

She'd be suspicious if I suddenly had it, and I don't want to risk her finding it somewhere at home. I need to learn how to control this, but not now. Not until I learn more."

We sit in silence for a few moments more, not knowing what to say to each other. If this whole thing never happened, would we even be talking right now?

"Alice," I start. "You know you're not nothing to me, right?"
..........

Alice stands up from the bench, but she doesn't leave. Instead, she smiles in a way I haven't seen in almost two years. It isn't the sarcastic smirk she's been giving me for the past few months. It's honest, genuine.

"I didn't know until now I guess," she says, a hint of sadness in her voice. "It's been a while you know."

She takes her phone out of her pocket and groans. "I need to go, right now."

Alice quickly stuffs her phone away and heads for the door. But before she reaches for the handle, she stops and turns back to me.

"By the way," she says hesitantly. "...You're not nothing to me either."
