"And so I stormed right into his office and told him what he deserved to hear---"

"Was that really necessary Chloe?" I ask as we walk into the school together.

My childhood best friend gives me a dramatic "hmph" then immediately returns to her bratty complains.

"Of course it was necessary Adrikins!" Chloe exclaims. "As you know the daughter of the mayor deserves the best. It's practically a crime to be seen wearing last season's shoes! Especially for someone as high class as me."

My mind wanders off as Chloe continues talking, dragging me up the steps into school. She's still complaining once we reach Miss Bustier's classroom. She doesn't stop until she notices Sabrina and goes over to talk with her. Probably about how annoying her hotel staff is or something like that.

Nino and Alya wave me over and I take my seat by them. But I notice a certain someone isn't there with Alya. "Hey, is Marinette late again?" I ask.

"Not this time apparently. Turns out she came down with something," Alya says. "Probably not a big deal though. She'll be fine."

"It's so upsetting isn't it?" a voice says from behind me. I turn to see Lila sitting in Marinette's seat, all smiles. "I really hope it doesn't become anything serious! Alya, you'll have to tell her about all the get well wishes I want to send to her!" she says, clearly acting.

Does Lila seriously have to lie so she looks good? I wonder why she doesn't know people would still like her if she didn't lie. I should ask Alice about that the next time I see her.

Alya looks confused, but then quickly hides it with a smile. "Thanks for worrying Lila. I'm sure Marinette will appreciate it," she says.

Before I can respond Miss Bustier enters the room and calls attention to the class. "Let's settle down everyone! We'll be getting started now."

"And of course little miss perfect just had to make a big deal about it! Like, can't she realize that she doesn't know everything?!"

"You know we're by the lockers now right? You've been ranting about Chloe for the past five minutes," Nino laughs. "Sounds like she annoyed you pretty bad this time."

Alya pouts and elbows her boyfriend, making sure it hurts. "Well of course she did!" she says. "I had to serve her stupid detention just because she threatened to call her dad!"

Geez, so many people have something to complain about today. "Chloe's not that that bad you know," I say in her defense. "She's just kind of...you know..."

"A spoiled brat?" Nino suggests as he continues rubbing his arm.

"A selfish jerk?" Alya says, being a wonderful girlfriend and acting oblivious to Nino's pain.

"I--thats not what I meant." I mentally face palm. "You guys have a point I guess, but Chloe can actual be a pretty good person. When she wants to be, that is."

Alya shakes her head and continues her ramble, but a sudden shriek from outside the room catches our attention. We look out the door to see Chloe, Sabrina, and Aurore. Except Aurore is soaking wet, covered in water from her blue dress to her dirty blonde ponytails. "What the heck Chloe!" Aurore says angrily.
