After Kagami leaves, I can't help but be a bit curious. I try not to think of it as a big deal, and me and Alice head to my place. It kind of sucks that we mostly talk about miraculous's and things like that. I make a mental note to plan a regular hang out with her.

"You know Mari," she says, following behind me as I open the trap door to my room. "You can tell me if it ever feels like I'm bothering you. I won't really mind."

"If you were bothering me you wouldn't be here, right?" I tell her. Alice closes the door and Tikki quickly takes the opportunity and makes herself visible.

"So, what's wrong?" I ask.

"A dream I had," Alice answers. "Well, more like a nightmare."

"Another one? What was it about?"

"I can't remember everything, and that's the problem."

A soft glow catches my eye and I gesture to Alice's necklace. When she realizes what's happening, her entire demeanor changes. "I...didn't do that," she says. The mist practically surrounds her, and her body tenses.

"Alice!"

The mist releases itself, like a dark, cold ocean across my room.
It's as if my thoughts are clouded, and refuse to clear up. An image flashes for a second in my head, and somehow it just makes this all even more painful.

My knees give in and I feel myself collapse. I can't get the memory out of my head, my whole body is shaking. I try to pull myself up, but everything hurts. All my energy just goes into moving my head up to see the girl in front of me.

"Alice, what did you do?!"

She looks at her necklace, which is still glowing, and then back to me. I almost feel bad for how harsh I sounded, because her eyes are wide and her hands are trembling.

"I-I don't know," Alice says quietly. "Mari...I don't know what I just did."

Hesitantly she walks over and gets down on my level, then helps me sit up. I've stopped shaking as much but the pain lingers. Telling by her reaction, she definitely wasn't supposed to do something like that.

"What exactly did I do to you?"

That's what I'm trying to figure out. It hurt, no doubt. However, it's not the physical pain that bothers me. It's what I suddenly remembered. The memory is almost gone now, I can hardly remember any fragments of it. Alice's powers made it seem like I was seeing it again.

"I'm not sure to be honest," I finally tell her. "It felt like I was being forced to watch a certain memory, and then it suddenly stopped."

"Do you know what it was?" Tikki asks.

I shake my head. "I can't remember what it was anymore."

Both Alice and my kwami look at me with concern. "My powers are supposed to be stronger when it's darker, but I didn't know I could do something like that," Alice says. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. There's something I've been wondering about though," I start. "Your necklace is a miraculous, right? So why haven't we seen the page for it?"

"Page? What are you talking about?"

"The book of the mircaulous!" Tikki exclaims. "Marinette has a point. If there was a page about it, that'd make things a lot less confusing."

"Where is the book anyway?" Alice asks. "How do you two know the page isn't there?"

Tikki and I exchange a side glance, and a little nod from her gives me permission to tell the story. I go on to tell her about how I found Adrien with the book, and that it apparently belonged to his father. It took me a while to get as much details in as possible, but Alice has a serious expression on her face by the time I'm done.

"Doesn't Gabriel Agreste still seem a bit suspicious to you?" she questions. "Even if he was akumatized, that still doesn't explain how he got the book in the first place. Or what he's using it for right now."

The question makes me rethink the whole situation. Why have I never thought about that before?! I guess I was just so relieved that Adrien got to go back to school, that I didn't think about what to do about the book itself.

"Well what should we do?" Tikki asks suddenly. "It's not like you can just ask Adrien for the book. He got in trouble for it last time."

"And if we can't think of a good excuse for why we need it," I add. "Adrien might get suspicious."

Alice's mumbling catches my attention.

"What did you say?" I ask.

Her eyes go wide and she quickly shakes her head. "Nothing, sorry," she says. "But...you guys have a point. If we're really looking into this more, then we need to be careful. We could be wrong, and if Adrien or anyone else gets a single clue as to what our intentions are..."

I finish her thought for her. "...Then we'll be dealing with a lot more than a hidden book."
