5 years later...
"Yes, put the lights behind her!" You ordered one of your crew. People were busy setting things up, the monitors, lights and the makeup team was ready behind the camera. It was a sunny day in London. Birds were chirping and the trees were a beautiful green. You picked up your camera and started taking photos of the model in front of you.
"Ok, nice shot, Marie! Let's do that one more time, shall we? But with a different position." Your accent changed. You barely sound American now. The model called Marie started posing beautifully in front of River Thames. It also had a beautiful view of the Tower Bridge. Her white silk dress flowed against the wind.
You take one last shot and looked at the monitor. You were satisfied with the final outcomes. "Alright, Marie. You were amazing! Take 5 everyone!" Everyone goes into different directions while you sat in front of the monitor, editing the photos.
Suddenly, you were jumped by someone behind you. You turned behind you to see George. "Dear God, George!" He laughs and you stand up. "Still working?" "As you can see, my photoshoot isn't done yet. What are you doing here, anyway?" He lifts up a paper bag. "Lunch?" You roll your eyes. "Really?" "Hey, mom made this for you! She knew that you would be starving from taking photos under the sun all day."
You laugh. George's mom always sent you food whenever you had a photoshoot. "Alright, alright. We can sit under the canopy." You both headed for the canopy, when your assistant, Peter, stopped you. "(Y/n)!" You turn to look at him. "Pete, I'm trying to have my lunch here!" "I'm really sorry, girl. But our photoshoot tomorrow is cancelled!"
You raise an eyebrow. "Ok and?" Peter was confused. "That's the third cancellation this month!" You pat his shoulders as you sigh. "Pete, it's just July. Give it a break. Plus, all of you get a free holiday!" You continue to walk to the canopy, followed by George, who was astonished at your way of speaking.
"Sis, you're sure it's okay that there's another cancellation?" You take out your sandwich and nod. "Yeah, of course! I mean, I'm tired anyways. I just need a break!" George was really concerned. "I know I shouldn't ask this but," You raise your head. "Have you been talking to him?"
You dropped your sandwich. You just smiled as you silently said, "No." "How long?" Tears were already forming in your eyes. Your voice started breaking. "Five years."

In Florida, Zak was editing a video for his channel. Unlike last time, his room was much more brighter and it was all neat and tidy. He was also in a Discord call with Darryl. He had a cup of water beside him on his table. "Hey, Zak. Do you think I look best in black or red?" Zak laughs at Darryl's question.
"What type of question is that?" Darryl groans through the mic. "I'm just trying to get your opinion." "You look good in black, honestly." Darryl giggles softly. Zak's phone starts to ring and he picks it up. "Hello?" "Hey, Zak! Wanna go to Starbucks?" It was Jennifer. "Ok but, what about your boyfriend? He's gonna twist me like a towel if he sees me hanging out with you." Jennifer laughs. "Oh, don't worry 'bout him. I told him anyways. See you at 9!"
She hangs up. "Alright, Bad. I have to go now. Let's talk again later, yeah?" "Ok, sure! Bye, Skeppy!" Darryl ends the Discord call. Zak turns off his computer and grabs a cap from his bed. He grabs his keys from a clay bowl downstairs and drives off in his car.
After driving for not too long, he arrives at Starbucks and parks somewhere just below a tree. He sees Jennifer texting on her phone and a cup of Caramel Frappuccino in front of her. He goes inside and heads straight to the counter. "Hi, welcome to Starbucks! What can I get for you today?" A bubbly man greets him at the counter. "Hey, can I get a Mocha Frappuccino in grande, please?" "Yes, of course! What is your name, sir?" "Zak, please." "Alrighty, then! We'll get your order started!"
He waits at the side of the counter for a while, until his order arrived. The waitress hands him his drink and he goes to Jennifer's table. "Hey, Jenn." She looks up and gives a soft smile. "Hi! Glad you could make it." Jennifer looks different now. She wore less and less makeup everyday and she dyed her hair brown with blonde strands.
"So uh, what's up?" Jennifer takes a sip of her coffee. "Well, I actually wanted to ask you something. And because I care for my friends, I have to ask this." Zak questions what she is about to ask. He too, takes a sip of his coffee as he looks at her suspiciously. "So um, have you been talking to (Y/n)?"
He freezes. His face started going pale and he starts to tremble a bit. Jennifer notices him and puts down her drink. "Oh my god, Zak are you alright? I-I'm sorry if the question was too much-" "No, no it's fine. Just, I haven't heard that name for a long time." He clears his throat. "To answer your question, no, I haven't. It has been, what, five years?"
"Zak, I've been trying to reach her, but she won't reply." He shakes his head, as he knew that he already gave up for a while now. "Nah, it's okay. Although, I really do miss her."

Night falls early in England. You take your electric guitar from its stand and you sat at the window seat, which had a beautiful view of the starry night sky. The moon was also shining brighter than ever today. You plugged in your amplifier and you start playing a song called 'The One That Got Away' by Katy Perry.
"Summer after high school, when we first met, we'd make-out in your Mustang to Radiohead, and on my 18th birthday, we got matching tattoos,"
George slowly opens your door to see you playing while singing.
"Used to steal your parents liquor and climb to the roof, talk about our future like we had a clue, never planned that one day I'd be losing you."
"In another life, I would be your girl, we'd keep all our promises, be us against the world. In another life, I would make you stay, so I don't have to say you were the one that got away. The one that got away"
