"Skeppy, what happened this time?"
"I-I messed up, Bad. Big time."
Zak sits on his gaming chair while having a Discord video call with Darryl. His hair is a total mess and all of his clothes are on the floor everywhere. He hasn't been active for the past 4 days and he barely ate. Heather came by some times, but he kept pushing her away, although he was grateful that someone was there for him.
"Zak, I don't know the amount of times I've reminded you. Take care of her."
Zak shakes his head. "I know. It's my fault. 4 days, inside this empty house without her. Hah, feels weird." Darryl was really worried about the relationship between you and Zak. He sighs and looks at Zak, who was getting hopeless. "Hey, look at me." Zak lifts up his head to look at Darryl. "It will be alright. Give her time. When the time comes, both of you will be back to normal once again."
He was hesitant about you two getting back to your 'normal' life again. He gives a small grin and murmurs the words, 'Thank you'. The call ends, and he cried. Tears kept falling down. He looks at his desktop wallpaper and sees you two, smiling. Hugging. He wished that would happen again, but judging by his mistake, it won't happen anytime sooner.
The door opens, revealing Heather, who was overhearing everything. She ran to him and hugged him. "Shh, it's alright, love. I'm here." Zak cried in her shoulders, and even though he had someone to hold onto, he had no one to comfort his aching heart. "It's my fault, Heather. It's my fa-" "None of this is your fault, Zak."
Zak felt numb, and the clouds started turning gray, and slowly rain poured down. It was heavy, and the cars zooming outside couldn't be heard. Heather sighed, pulling him closer to her embrace.
                              ###
You stood outside the balcony, watching as the rain poured down. You look at your phone to see the clock is now at 4:52 p.m. It's slowly getting darker. The evening is arriving. Your left arm suddenly felt a stung and you open the sleeves of your hoodie to see cut marks. You started to think, 'What would Zak think about this?'
                              'Will he be mad?'
                              'Will he cry?'
'Does he still think about me?'
                              'Is he looking for me?'
                              You couldn't help but wonder.
Vianna stands next to you, holding a bar of chocolate. She hands it over to you with a smile. "Chocolate is the best medicine to heartbreaks!" You take it and bite a piece off. "Via, can I ask you something?" "Yeah, sure! What's up?" You turn to face her. "What do you think of me going to London?"
Her eyes widened. "What? London? Girl, what are you gonna do there?" You chuckle. "I feel like Europe is calling me." She sighs and looks at the beautiful scenery of the vast forest. "I don't know, to be honest. You shouldn't ask me." You look at her. You know who she's going to talk about. "Ask Zak."
Zak. You sigh. You still care about him. The thought of leaving everything behind without telling him feels twisted in your stomach. But you realize, you are not his property. Both of you are grown ups, you can make your own decisions.
"I'll think about it. Telling him. Besides, I'm not alone there."
                              ###
The house seems quiet now. Heather went back home half an hour ago, leaving Zak behind again. He is still sitting in front of his computer. Spotify was opened and a song was playing. His eyes were both red and grey. It looked like he hasn't slept in a few days. Beer was all over his table. He didn't drank when Heather was there, and only drunk when she left.
The song playing was 'Arcade' by 'Duncan Laurence'. The lyrics that he could relate to played, and a tear rolled down.
'I spent all of the love I've saved, we were always a losing game. Small-town boy in a big arcade, I got addicted to a losing game. All I know, all I know, loving you is a losing game.'
He gets a call from Darryl again, and this time he was calling him through a Discord video call again. "Hey, Zak. Just checking in. How are you?"
"Dar, this is the third time you checked on me. Aren't you tired of checking on me, who is the loser?" Darryl shakes his head. "No, and I will never. Zak, you have to be strong. She will come back." "No, she won't. (Y/n) won't come back, Bad." Darryl just stayed silent. Suddenly, Zak started singing the lyrics from the song earlier.
"I spent all of the love I've saved, we were always a losing game."
                              Darryl was surprised.
"A small-town boy in a big arcade, I got addicted to a losing game."
"Loving you is a losing game"
His voice cracked at the end. Darryl then asked the question. "Do you love her? Not as a sister, but as somebody special."
Zak smiled, looking at the photo frame of you two at a zoo in front of an elephant. He closes his eyes, and a tear comes out. He slowly reopens them, and he says the words,
                              "Yes."
                              ###
The moon was up in the night sky. You were on your phone, and was about to face time someone. You click on the contact number, and the call was ringing. The call was picked up immediately. You smile as you see the person inside your phone. "Hey, brother. How are you?"
"Totally wonderful. How are you?" It was a man. He had a deep, British accent. "I'm good, I guess." "You guess?" You shake your head. "None of that. Look, I need some help." The man spun around on his chair. "I'm not listening!" You sighed.
"You're older than me and you're acting like a literal 5-year-old." Suddenly, a British accent comes out from your mouth. You yelped and closed your mouth. "Ah, finally! Your inner British has come out, (Y/n)!" You scoffed. "Alright, alright." "But I'm still not helping you."
"Ugh, seriously?" He giggles through the screen. "Ok, ok. Magic word?" "I am not saying that, you old man!" He rolls his eyes. "I am not old! I am only four years older than you!" You give up, and finally said the words. "Dear brother mine, can you help me, please?" He laughs so hard to the point where he almost fell off of his chair.
"Ok, sister mine. What do you want?" He cups his face. You find it kind of annoying as you just wanted to talk with him about something quite serious. "I'm going to England. Well, I want to go to England." His jaw drops. "I'm sorry?" "You heard me right." He smiles. "Why? Is there something wrong? You rarely come here, you know." You nod. "Yes, yes. I know. But I just wanna stay at your place for a while."
He crosses his arms. "Ok, how long?" Your face changes. "As long as I want to." The man in front of you stops goofing around and realizes what you're going through. "Ok, fine. But tell him. He deserves to know." You hesitate, but smile. "I'll see about that."
