Start with the foundations

The first step to styling yourself slimmer is to start with the basics.

Starting with the foundations of fashion can sound quite a daunting task when you think about it at first, but it actually becomes quite easy once you know how.

First, let's start off with what you need in your new wardrobe transformation, (the "basics".)

A faux leather jacket. The reason I'm including a faux leather jacket in the wardrobe basics is because you need to own at least one of them in your collection.

Faux leather is so in right now! (And I'm not just saying that because I'm against animal cruelty.)
Not only is faux leather trendy, pretty and less expensive, but it also saves the animals so that's an added bonus.

A go-to blazer. Blazers are an item of fabric that you can wear to any occasion where you still seem to fit in, no matter where you're at.

Blazers can actually add to your security and confidence. You will feel like a boss-ass bitch and like nothing can get in your way, (which I think is so powerful!)

Try and find a blazer that works best for your body type, (and if you don't know about body types yet, don't worry, I'll explain it to you later on in this ebook....)

Plain white shirt. You can never go wrong with a plain white shirt. On the days where you are stuck with what to wear because you are going to a formal occasion where people are dressing like it's casual and outside it's eighteen degrees yet snowing, you can always throw on a plain white shirt to make your look complete.

Little black dress. It doesn't matter what size you are or what skin tone or hair colour you may have, practically anyone can pull off a little black dress.

You've just got to work out how to make little black dresses work for you, whether that means adding a colourful jacket to take the darkness away from your face, or adding a brightly coloured waist belt to draw attention to the area.

Little black dresses will make you feel confident and fearless so wear it to your advantage, especially on your worst days.

Denim jacket. The classic denim/jeans jacket. The trend has been around for centuries and it's still just as trendy.

Denim jackets can be added to any outfit and it will have the power to transform it. Make sure that you dress according to the occasion: the jacket can come later.

Sometimes you might feel a bit reluctant to wear denim jackets as you are scared that you will stand out or that you will look fat in some angles, but the only thing I can say is that you need to loosen up a bit and live a little. Everybody has their own faults so if they are judging your every move, it says more about them than about you.

Pencil skirt. This one might not be the most basic accessory in your wardrobe, but it still does the trick.

I've never known one stylish woman without having at least one pencil skirt in their wardrobe.
Pencil skirts are really stylish, classy and can be worn to practically any occasion! And not only are pencil skirts a basic in fashion, but they are actually a classic way to look leaner too. If you pair a pencil skirt with a tucked-in shirt or a belted jacket, you will look leaner and possibly even a few inches taller. How about that?!

So if you want to change up your wardrobe to make yourself look thinner, you should definitely invest in a good pencil skirt.

Another foundation of fashion to help you look and feel your best is by finding your personal style.
Finding your personal style is quite easy when you put your mind to it. Gather pieces from your wardrobe that you currently on and judge by the pieces what you think your style would be and try to search for celebrities on the web who wear similar outfits to you and try to work out what sort of style they have.
